Zardari again admitted to Dubai Hospital

Dubai—President Asif Ali Zardari is reportedly admitted to a Dubai hospital for a medical check up on Wednesday.

President’s spokesman Farhatullah Babar, however, denied media reports and said that the president was
 healthy and staying at home.

After
surfacing of infamous memo scam, President Zardari, had dashed to Dubai for medical treatment and the country was rife with speculations.

There was even much media hype about an imminent change in the top
 hierarchy of government.

But Zardari contrary to speculations appeared on the national scene much to the disappointment of political pundits who had been eying toppling of PPP government by the military establishment.—INP

                                                     He should not play gimmicks.

President Asif Ali Zardari is admitted again in a hospital in Dubai is more shameful than shocking news at least for me if not others but for certain cogent reasons and not otherwise.

What about our hospitals in Pakistan which are many in our cities and towns owned by public and private sector alsike? Is none hospital including Agha Khan (Karachi); Mayo (Lahore) ; PIMS (Islamabad) CMH (Rawalpindi), to name just a few very selective ones, are not best hospitals of the country? I very much doubt that anyone can cross me so far as at least the above hospitals are concerned so if the answer is yes then the pertinent question is, can’t they treat our president? Where do they lack-doctors or machineries or both? I am very much rusty about the hospitals of my beloved Pakistan simply because I am out of country since 1976 but yet I can very convincingly say Zardari can be treated in Pakistan unless and until he is down with a disease which is not curable in Pakistan but in Dubai which is nothing but humbug nonsense and absolutely absurd.

What is his disease unless it is presidential disease which at least I have not heard of it though I am not only older to him but even knocking to be 70 some months later? Just for academic discussion, say for example neither we have the specialist doctor and nor the machinery for him so he cannot be treated in Pakistan and I am absolutely with you and not against on this point up to this stage. But let me pose a question? Will it not be more prudent that the consultant is called and the machinery is imported so that the President remains in the country and treated.  If the machine is installed in Pakistan then it can be used for other patients as well when the same is not being used by Zardari. The foreign medical consultant can teach our doctors for the period he is treating Zardari which in turn pays dividends as our these doctors who have been imparted knowledge by the foreigner can treat other Pakistanis too when they are not engaged by Zardari. Didn’t we gain on both accounts? Where did we lose and how much?  How much does national exchequer pay on his hospitalization trip where he must be carrying some of his staff as well and of course the staff will not be sleeping on the bed next to him but in 5 star hotels etc? I roughly guess the figure must be in 10 digits if not 12 and that too spent in foreign currency and not Pak rupees hence the cost multiplies in any case. I am sure some foreign medical experts at some point of time must be coming to Pakistan too as they come to Kuwait to perform some operations etc.

Not much for curiosity but for my satisfaction I just checked with Google to see hospitals’ ranking and I and found out that that there are 8 top hospitals in whole Arab World which of course includes Dubai too but I was astonished to see that amongst those 8 hospitals there was none from UAE or more precisely Dubai. King Faisal Hospital and Research Center topped on the list in Arabs while internationally speaking it is at serial 8 in world ranking. Pakistan falls in Asia so quite naturally I had to see who tops and where. Taipe Veteras General Hospital is at the top of the ladder so far as Asia is concerned and it is 19th in rank at global scale. There is no Pakistani hospital among top 100 hospitals in Asia but I could read name of some Indian hospitals listed among top 100.

Where is Dubai Hospital where Zardari was admitted before and has gone again there even yesterday? Is Zardari inflicted with the disease which can be cured nowhere on the face of earth but in Dubai only? He should not play gimmicks.
