Hujj Dates

Today is Sunday the November 14th and the Hujjaj will halt at Arafaat at 15th (Waqoof e Arafat), listen to the Khutba e Hajj and time permitting move on to Mina offering Maghrabain (Maghrib and Isha together) enroute and Fajr there. Tomorrow Monday the 16th they will perform Rimmi and undo Ahram to offer the sacrifice.

However, we in Pakistan shall offer our Eid prayers and the sacrifice on the 17th – one days later than at Makkah. This is somehow not understood by me. Hajj is something that cannot be performed anywhere on the planet earth except at Makkah. We see it live being performed there on the TV yet, we say, no, our Hajj day will be on the 16th and the day after it – the day of the sacrifice - on the 17th.

I think the rituals connected with Hujj must be observed all over the world with Makkah and on the very same day when these are performed there. I don’t know why must we stick to the local date of the 10th of ZulHajj to observe it as we cannot perform Hajj at Barri Imam, Data Darbar, Sehwan Sharif or for that matter anywhere else in the world except Makkah.
