Who is our leader?
With due respect to our leaders either in power namely Asif Ali Zardari, President of Pakistan and Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, Prime Minister of Pakistan and or in opposition namely Mian Nawaz Sharif, Chief, Pakistan Muslim League (N) group and Imran Khan, Chairman, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf and many others alike, I must pen in black and white proving without the slightest shadow of doubt as to who is our real leader in the truest sense and application.

Who is a leader? The simplest answer can be the one who obliges others to obey to his or her instructions and commands is none but a leader and from that point of view just a few leaders are mentioned here i.e. the father is a leader for his family members; the person who leads prayers is a leader for those who pray after him in a mosque; the teacher is a leader for those students who are taught in a classroom; the captain who guides his team members is also a leader and likewise the one who heads any political party is also a leader. I will ignore all the leaders except political leader.

Mutahedda Qaumi Mahaz (MQM) is also a political party in my beloved country which over the years have proved its strength and though it’s Chief Altaf Hussain (called Altaf Bhai-none else could earn the suffix) is in London for over decade but yet its popularity touches zenith. Our leaders both present and past go to him in London seeking his favors whereas his telephonic address attracting thousands of his followers in different cities and towns very well proves that he is the leader. Recently he asked his men to quit government and therefore his governor and ministers resigned in one go.

President Zardari not only tried through his channels to get back MQM in his fold but even himself called Altaf Hussain to have some soft corner for PPP and resultantly Altaf agreed that his governor should resume as Governor Sindh but it is not enough. President was that MQM ministers should also resume as ministers. Who is the leader, the one sitting too far away in London or the one who occupies the throne in Islamabad, you decide?

Prayers

Sincere Iqbal Hadi Zaidi / Kuwait
