Lap Tops

Mian Nawaz Shareef was  shown  giving away a laptop to a  girl student in  Multan while distributing laptops among the talented students there. (Pakistan Observer Feb 8^th) . I don’t know in what capacity he was doing that?  Again an expensive half page ad in Urdu daily Jang carries  prominently  the picture of  Mian Nawaz Shareef with a message that the MLN Quaid will distribute the laptops in Multan on behalf of the CM Punjab.  Can an elder brother who is not a government functionary do that on behalf his younger CM brother?  I don’t think so. I thought it was the Military Secretary in the case of President, Governors and now a days the Prime Minister also, who could represent them at a function and in the case of Chief Ministers it was the Senior Minister of the province who did that.

By delegating such responsibility to a brother is nothing more than projecting his political image and that too at a very high cost of the personal integrity of the CM himself (hope he knows it?) and at the  cost of the provincial exchequer (but who cares for it!). 

Oh God if you have given them a status, give them the stature also to carry themselves with grace and dignity
