Student asks questions to his law teacher

I was too proud to have been taught law at Punjab University Law College, Lahore during 1966-68 by Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan but now I am a bit ashamed to be honest and thus I had to pick up pen to pen but ironically I am at all at fault whatsoever. Aitzaz is engaged by PM Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani to defend him in the case of contempt of court initiated against him by Supreme Court of Pakistan and as a lawyer it is quite but natural on his part to defend his client but nevertheless as a true gentleman he must value each and every case before taking it up. Without going into the details the crux is that since PM has not written letter to Swiss authorities on the loot money of President Asif Ali Zardari deposited in Swiss banks, Supreme Court of Pakistan had to cognizance of it and accordingly it asked PM to explain his position in this regard. Today Wednesday 21st March, 2012, the whole nation is impatiently waiting to hear as to what SC decides when its seven-members large bench hears the suo moto notice initiated for non-compliance of its orders in connection with National Reconciliation Order (NRO) and will study the arguments forwarded by my teacher defending PM.

My simple and only question is. Has Zardari not looted money and deposited the same in Swiss banks? If the answer is yes, which is the true answer in any case, and then the money must under all circumstances be brought back to Pakistan and deposited in our national exchequer. How does the question of immunity arise here in any case, my most respected teacher may I dare ask, if not annoying? I am too small before you but I still very vividly remember that you told the whole class when I was very much present in the class that a good lawyer always takes up case on merits and merits alone and not otherwise. Aren’t you giving undue and illogical devoid of simple common sense protection to Zardari to swallow ill gotten money, my most respected teacher?
