The Basic Solution

The foremost problem of our present society is the communal and social divide that has now established solid foundations. Nevertheless, whatever the consequences it may give rise to, it is necessary to understand the causes of the disease and one of them is the structure of our education system.

I do not need to mention the stratifications that exist in the educational structure but they clearly amplify the idiom “jis ki laathi uss ki bhainss” The standard of government institutes has degraded to an extent that the product of these institutes find it difficult to enroll in a good university whose selection criterion is high and contemporary to the present standards. Meanwhile, options are wide open for those-a specific class-who can afford a higher class education. Consequently, mass of our youth (which comprises more than 60% of the country’s population) is unable to justify its capabilities and serve its country. Majority keeps struggling at the hands of inferiority complex and lower intellectual ability. This mass faces discrimination in terms of job and career opportunities later on. The result is the communal divide.

Furthermore, the syllabus is outdated and it does not dissipate enough knowledge that can motivate the young minds to take interest in their field of knowledge and to yield fruitful research results. On the other hand, those who study the Oxford syllabus are better equipped to handle the situation. Their confidence, intellectual level and ability promise them an illustrious future.

The crux of the argument is that it is not necessary to implement a ONE FOR ALL education system but also that the content and method regarding what is to be taught needs to be updated so that our nation can run along the contemporary world. Writing it in a few lines is easy but an effort ought be made right now for neglecting such an issue will give rise to further stratification and divide in the society.
