Self Purification

It is heartening to see that the process of Self Purification for the parliamentarians set forth by Faisal Saleh Hayat by bringing charges of corruption against his own then Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf in rental power plants case is being followed suite. MNA Asad Umer is trying to table a motion in the assembly - against obvious odds - to invoke audit proceedings against the tax evading parliamentarians, as he thinks and very rightly too that unless the tax law makers themselves pay full taxes others cannot be morally forced to pay them. And as such the national exchequer was being deprived of the badly needed millions apart from imposing all kinds of direct and indirect taxes on the poor masses. MNA Jamshed Dasti has attacked the very morals of the honourable legislators on the floor of the house by stating that wine, whiskey and liquor worth Rs. 40 to 50 millions is consumed in the Parliament Lodges, where apart from its corridors stinking of chars odour th! e lodges are also frequented openly by women of dubious character and profession!  His such alarming disclosure was confirmed by MNA Nabeel Gabol.  I think such self accountability and purification is a healthy sign that can go a long way in weeding out the undesirable ones from amongst the good and God fearing legislators.  Since the parliamentarians amongst themselves are privy to many an inside and startling story about each other, I think they are the best people to do two more services to the nation.  One.  Force all law makers who have their billions stashed abroad in foreign banks to bring that back to Pakistan.  Two. Expose the mega corruption cases of the past, present and in the making  of their co-legislators and make them pay back the loot to the nation.

If they only do it, the names of these assemblies and senate will be written in golden letters in the parliamentarian history of Pakistan.
