Press conference, Minister Information, Sherry Rehman said that President Zarda"ri

Responding to a query on Mian Nawaz Sharifs press conference, Minister Information, Sherry Rehman said that President Zardari has always tried to keep all doors of dialogue open. He believes in political reconciliation, an empowered parliament and an independent judiciary.
This is a democratically elected government, and both the PM and the President have great respect and tolerance for dissent as well as opposition.
Rehman said that the PML N leaders have nothing to fear from an elected government.
" Our leadership has faced real hardship in exile and imprisonment for long periods of time without compromising on principles. The President was in jails all over the country for a total of eleven and a half years, while the PM too faced the rigours of imprisonment for cases that could never be proved. So this is not a government that will take any undemocratic actions, as they have paid a high price in the blood of several martyrs including Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. This is the government that removed a dictator without spilling any blood or spreading chaos on the streets.
"We have a long, tough road ahead, and institutions that have been trampled for decades again and again will take some time to strengthen, so it would be better if all democratic forces tried to work together to combat the twin challenges of poverty and terrorism that stalk our land. "
