Every second day the Indian High Commissioner or his deputy is summoned by the Foreign Office to be served with a strong protest for firing across the LOC and killing innocent civilians on our side. The High Commissioner drives down to the Foreign office from his embassy in an impressive black limo flying Indian flag in full view of the public. As it happens too frequently, the car carrying the HC Click here to read Full Article

Traffic Police Outlook by Col. Riaz Jafri (Retd)

I think the prime duty of the traffic police is the prevention of accidents but somehow it confines itself mostly to the regulation of traffic and in the case accidents their action is more of punitive than preventive or remedial. Just to elucidate: the Traffic Wardens always stand on the other side of the traffic light or the speed limit zone, as if just to ambush the violator after letting him Click here to read Full Article
Corona SOPs by Col. Syed Riaz Jafri (Retd)

Let’s face it, we are not a disciplined nation nor are we an educated one. On the contrary we are ignorant and badly misinformed mass of people believing in supra naturals, myths and mythologies, rituals and practices without knowing the rationale behind them. Unfortunately, our semi-literate clergy who has a great hold on our masses is at daggers draw with the modern, scientific and logical inter Click here to read Full Article

Respectable Lawyers by Col. Syed Riaz Jafri (Retd)

The Honourable CJP Asif Saeed Khosa addressing the lawyers in Multan nostalgically reminisced the respect lawyers were shown in the years bygone and sorrowfully wondered why it was no more there. He being the son of a lawyer and having been one himself should be able to fathom out the cause for it. I think Professional Degradation & Avarice of the Black Coats could be summed up as the reason for s Click here to read Full Article
Chief Election Commissioner by Col. Syed Riaz Jafri (Retd)

Reportedly the opposition and ruling parties have not agreed upon the names of the CECP proposed by each other. Don’t they find anyone out of the 6 names a man of integrity? Why must they insist upon the man of their own choice, do they expect from him an out of turn favour or some unjust decision? Isn’t it something very strange? Nomination and NOT mutual selection of such important personage s Click here to read Full Article

Treatment Abroad by Col. Syed Riaz Jafri (Retd)

Agreed that in spite of the best hospitals and doctors in Pakistan comparable to the hospitals and doctors anywhere else there may be a need for some odd patient to be flown to the UK for the treatment of some particular disease. However, isn’t it strange that the treatment for that disease is not available even in the mighty Great Britain and that there is a talk in the air of the patient being t Click here to read Full Article
Govt. Military Same Page by Col. Syed Riaz Jafri (Retd)

It beats me why every now and then the Govt. has to proclaim that the army and the govt. are on the same page? Is it for the consumption of someone else or their own reassurance? Do they have any doubts about it? Don’t they know that under the constitution the army is subservient to the civil rule and that it shall always be at the beck and call of the democratic govt. of the day, whichever polit Click here to read Full Article

Plan B by Col. Syed Riaz Jafri (Retd)

Govt. will do wise not to interfere with the road blockades created by the MFR followers. It is causing great inconvenience to the public transport as well as private cars standard in which may be old men, women and children even babies who would have to suffer the vagaries of extreme weather away from their homes some in the wilderness. Most of them will not be able to turn back either due Click here to read Full Article
Azadi March by Col. Syed Riaz Jafri (Retd)

The stance of Fazal ur Rehman (I am reluctant to call any person Maulana as Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala has used this word for His self in Qura’n) is becoming harder by the day and he is now reportedly about to launch his Plan B in which a call would be given to block major arteries of the country including certain specific spots of the capital Islamabad. This would certainly lead to confrontation Click here to read Full Article
