Mogadishu 23, Nov.06 ( Sh.M.Network)

Males Zenawi
Ethiopia is believed to have thousands of its military troops in the small town of Baidoa, a temporary seat for the toothless transitional federal government.
Ethiopia merely admits its has hundreds of military officers in Somalia to train the government personnel and protect the government form the Islamic Courts fighters surrounding Baidoa.
Zenawi said jihad war against Ethiopia was an apparent threat to Ethiopia that could not be ignored, adding that the policy of his government to solve any conflict through peaceful means has so far ended in unproductiveness, and therefore has become indispensable to be fully geared up for the defense of Ethiopia against the enemy [Islamists].
The news comes as United States government formally supported an African troop deployment to Somalia to protect the weak government based in the small town of Baidoa, 245 km southwest of the capital.
Ethiopian military convoy passing through Kansah Omane environs on the edge of Baidoa was ambushed twice last week by pro-Islamist militias in the area.
Two armored vehicles were blown up as number of Ethiopian soldiers was reportedly killed in skirmishes that took place during the ambush.
Somalia lost its central government in 1991 when tribal warlords toppled former president Mohammed Siad Barre.
Peace talks in the Sudanese capital Khartoum have ended in failure early this month after Islamic Courts demanded that all Ethiopian forces in the country leave.

This was expected, since like Niger, Somalia is rich in Uranium. Thus before Iran or any other Muslim country could lay its hands on that stuff which brought a defame for an American Ambassa
This was expected, since like Niger, Somalia is rich in Uranium. Thus before Iran or any other Muslim country could lay its hands on that stuff which brought a defame for an American Ambassador's wife, Valerie Plame, the Zionists and Neocons might as well shift their killing field to Somalia, by providing military assistance to Ethiopia, which has been itching to strike Muslim Somalia. We must not forget the role played in this by Ethiopian Jews, once airlifted to take them to Israel. This chess-board played by Brit-US-Israel alliance has not finished the game till 2008, and we will see more fires lit in the Muslim world, before the change of present American administration. The shock and awe is not over yet. As we see another fertile ground for conflict based on OIL, i.e Darfur, since Chinese are competing with OIL giants, like Carlos Bulgheroni's BRIDAS'an Argentinian Oil Company (with Taliban, who were threatened on July 17, 2001 in Berlin: "Either you accept our offer of a carpet of gold, or we bury you under a carpet of bombs".] Just keep your eyes on the centerfold map of "Soldier of Fortune Magazine www.sofmagazine. com" for new "Forest Fires."

U.S. voices grave concern over situation in Somalia

The United States said on Wednesday that it was "extremely concerned" by the tense situation in Somalia.
"We are extremely concerned by the escalation of tensions inside Somalia, including a build-up of forces aligned with the Council of Islamic Courts around the interim capital of Baidoa, and recent militia clashes in northeastern Somalia," State department spokesman Gonzalo Gallegos said.
The Islamic militia should "immediately cease any further military expansion" and honor a June agreement for peaceful negotiations with the interim government, Gallegos said.
The Islamic Court has gained control of the capital, Mogadishu, and most of southern Somalia since June.
Somalia has been riven by factional fighting and has not had a functioning national government since Muhammad Siad Barre's regime was toppled in 1991.
