Mushahid Hussain : Losing balance - Why these double standards sir

 - Farrukh Khan Pitafi

It is very sad that a man of such a caliber has not only allowed his skills to be exploited by a bankrupt political class but is now even cheerleading for the establishment. Just a few minutes ago our dear sir not only talked to the press exploiting the differences within .

It is very sad that a man of such a caliber has not only allowed his skills to be exploited by a bankrupt political class but is now even cheerleading for the establishment. Just a few minutes ago our dear sir not only talked to the press exploiting the differences within the coalition but also presented a shameless case for the destruction of democracy. I mean has lost it all?

While the PML-Q hardly has any future Mushahid certainly has. A person who knows the policy matters well and who has enough wisdom to help country in these troubled times is choosing to stand with the negative forces which promise only doom and destruction. Mushahid sb did not shrink from siding with a government for eight years which allowed foreign intervention in the country but now he has problems with seeking the help of the UN in Bhutto probe. He supported a regime which destroyed judiciary but now he has problems with a government which has only taken over because it could not follow his assumed deadline. Sir you can tolerate eight years of dictatorship but not 30 days of democracy? If you are so serious in the restoration of the judges then here is the test: Just resign from your PML-Q post and join PML-N without asking or negotiating for any public office. Can you do that? When you do so the democratic minded people will start taking you seriously.

Otherwise can I ask, when you do not have problem with the dictatorial loot and plunder which resulted in our current economic problems what issues do you have with the NRO? If you do not have any problem with the imposition of martial law by Musharraf (you certainly didn't resign from your post then) what problems do you have with the delay in the restoration of judiciary? When you can tolerate the factors that contributed to the energy shortage and price hike why do you find these 30 days as the end of the world? As for Ayaz Amir sir, please don't talk of him. He is a man of some principles and stature. You'll take ages to reach that stature that he now enjoys. His dissent is most welcome and the democratic forces know how to win back their friends. Please worry about your own image instead.

And now for the emotional blackmail of our foolish friends I have this to say. Some of our lawyer friends are advising that the country should revert to the elections because the current government failed to fulfill its promise of restoring judges in 30 days. I mean they can wait for the dissolution and electoral process leading to new government formation to complete but they cannot give a few more days to the current government? Oh come come now, why get so agitated that you destroy the very tree on which you are sitting? Don't give the establishment a chance to destroy the fruits of our labor. Please show maturity and relent a bit.
