Musharraf supports MQM in bid to employ all
MQM activists in government sector so that they can
work for MQM and get paid by Sindh government at a time
when rural Sindh which is represented by PPP is out of
power corridoors.

Musharraf advises Sindh government to neglect quota system
which was introduced to protect rural Sindh rights because
urban Sindhis were controlling most of the jobs of Sindh

Friends,

Musharraf and MQM have repeatedly said that they want to end injustices and create a society where every one gets his/her due. List members must be aware of the MQM pronouncements on this. Musharraf had traveled to Bangladesh and confessed the accesses against the erstwhile citizens of the eastern wing of Pakistan during and before the tragic events of 1971. But have his later actions proved that he and the institution that he represents have learned anything from the history? Haven't they continued with the policies and the practices that were directly responsible for the break up of Pakistan?

Musharraf later went to Balochistan and conceded that injustices had been done to the province in the past. He assured the people of Balochistan that his government would end all that and would bring peace, harmony and justice to the troubled province. How did he follow through on his promise? He started a military operation against the people demanding just rights and killed their prominent leader. He thus killed all the support for the federalism among the Baloch people.

He also made several trips to Sindh and publicly acknowledged the injustices against the province. He said the province had been denied its due share in economic development, employment, distribution of water and the financial resources among other fields. He assured the people of Sindh: 'don't worry. Now that I am here, I would change all that and the province would get its due'.

These were of course just words and what he did in practice was to hand over the province to the agencies and his lackeys. People of Sindh remained worse off than ever before. They continue to be denied their political, economic, cultural and other rights. They are not getting their due share in the waters of the Indus River System and more funds are being stolen away from them than in the past. They are now also being dispossessed of their remaining lands in the cities and the countryside â€" inland and offshore.

Here is one more example how Musharraf and MQM are doing justice to the people of Sindh:

Government employment has been banned in Sindh since last several years. Recently government announced to lift the ban and give employment to the people against thousands of vacancies existing in a number of departments. Board of Intermediate Education, Mirpurkhas Division serving Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar, Sanghar and Umarkot districts invited applications for 150 vacant posts.

It is reported that the candidates were selected in London, UK. Followers of MQM got about 140 positions while Sindhi speaking candidates belonging to 4 rural and mostly backward districts got only about 10 positions!

Sir, this is the justice Musharraf and MQM are doing to the indigenous people of Sindh! Would this ring an alarm for any patriots and the custodians of Pakistan? Would they still allow Musharraf and MQM to deliver more of this kind of justice to “strengthen the foundations of the federation in the most sensitive province that is the lifeline of Pakistan?

Best regards,

Aziz Narejo
