Pakistan militants shoot down US drone: officials

Taliban militants on Saturday shot down a pilotless US drone in a Pakistani tribal area bordering Afghanistan, officials said. Skip related content

Residents and a local police official said two drones were flying low over a village in the South Waziristan tribal district when one of them was hit by militant fire.

"We heard the firing by Taliban and then a drone fell down," tribal police official Israr Khan told AFP.

Another security official said the drone crashed in a forest near a Pakistani border post.

"Apparently a drone has crashed in the nearby forest, we are searching for its wreckage," a security official told AFP.

Pakistan's chief military spokesman said the reports of a drone crash were being investigated.

"We have come to know that something has happened there, but we do not have any confirmation," major general Athar Abbas told AFP in Islamabad.

"We are further investigating and trying to find out."

More than two dozen suspected US drone attacks have been carried out in Pakistan since August 2008, killing more than 200 people, most of them militants.

At least eight militants were killed on March 1, in a US missile strike which destroyed a Taliban hide-out in South Waziristan, a known haven for Taliban and Al-Qaeda extremists.

Militant commander Baitullah Mehsud who heads the feared Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is based in South Waziristan and is the country's most wanted militant, accused of plotting the 2007 assassination of former premier Benazir Bhutto.

Pakistan is a key ally in the US-led "war against terror" but the strikes have fuelled anti-American sentiment in the country, particularly in the tribal belt bordering Afghanistan.

US and Afghan officials have accused Pakistan of not doing enough to crack down on the militants, who cross the border to attack US and NATO troops.

Pakistan rejects the accusation, pointing out that more than 1,500 Pakistani troops have died at the hands of Islamist extremists since 2002.

The lawless tribal areas have been wracked by violence since Afghanistan's Taliban regime was toppled by a US-led invasion in late 2001, prompting hundreds of fighters to flood the region.

Now you are explaining me Army can rock Taliban.
People like you are misguiding all the people of Pakistan and giving a benefit to those Kafyreen to whom you are telling they are true Muslim.
You people like a hard headed people you never appreciate the efforts of our army our police who are getting died daily for the sack off us. Insted all the youth of Pakistan should be together on one plate forum of Pakistan and Islam. They should help to army and the police as a brave men not dont act like hijras. The way our media is acting like "Hijras". Their job is just to insult army oky Musharraf left now what is your and your media problem with Army & Police? If they are catching the terrorist from where you are burning? Are these terrorist are your relatives? or your love ones? Who you are? For whom you are working? Only to confuse the people and guide them the wrong ways.
And listen that is not my wish like your family to wear half dress and room around all over the Pakistan. I know only one thing

So its mean in your family if some one wearing half dress dont you think 16 Karor are also wearing the same way as your family. People like your thinkg i will call them dirty insect like Hindus are in very small amount in Pakistan if our youth will be unite than we can throw you out side of Pakistan, including the Governor of Lahore, Imran Khan, Nawaz Shareef, Zardaree, and the one who is sitting in Parliament who killed 5 women alive buried and some more garbage from media and politics. Than my Pakistan will be clean from dirty people like you.
I will still believe on Allah hope he will bring my youth on positive side. And hope we will kick you soon and those who are like you Garbage of Pakistan.
If Army is kicking on the ASS of Baluchistan than you should know Indian are playing a big role their and that stupid people change the Kalma in abuse. Mean they are no more Muslim who change the Kalma. Their penalty is only goodbye this world.

And thing is killing inncoents and unarmed people liek what they did in Lal masjid and what they are doing in FATA/Balochistan. But when ever it come to take on drone or on american they only make theit pents wet.
Any how you can think what ever you want to. Paksitan army one day will realize that it is no good fighting with its own people. You took my msg totally wrong, i was talking as per the fficial statement madeby our DE-FENSE minister, that he dont have technology to hit the drone.
Just to let you tell one thing again.... This is not Talibaan or por people of FATA who started fight with Pak Army or governemnt of Pakistan. This was bloody Musharraf and America who started attacking them.
But people like you will remain afraid of Talibaan because then you will not be able to move around half naked or full naked.
But one they inshahalah, Islam will prevail. I dont want any Paksitan if there is no Islam in it.

i dont think so you create this web site to make better Pakistan, i think you make this side only to handover Pakistan to Taliban. I will give you one suggestion take your family from Pakistan and go to Afghanistan enjoy your rest of life there.
How Pakistan can be a better country when selfish people are living even jumping inside our country. You are lucky most of are lucky who are also seems like you selfish if Allah will give me a power i will throw you out from Pakistan and those also who behave like you.
People like you are not truly patriotic how they can be truly Muslim from their inner? You behave like you want to be on Taliban side who are just playing with our religion you actually get afraid from them? You think Pakistan Army dont have the power to defeat them? Actually army can rock your Taliban but because of civilians they are quite. You know why Pakistan is facing problems because people like you are on "Iqtidar" mean in Power. 2nd thing people get weak like you afraid from death. We have youth but useless. They know how to destroy the Pakistan but they dont know how to save or protect it. They dont know how to decorate and bring a peace in our country. Today the Muslim is the cause to destroy the peace of Pakistan & Islam and the whole world. Today the Pakistani and Islam become a migraine of this world. Because people like you are representing Islam and Pakistan. I am afraid when "Dajal will come and he will tell i am the God and worship me. You will be the first one who will join him because you will get afraid from his power and your question will be the same Handed over Islam to this "Dajal" because he is powerful. Pakistan Atomy power cannot face the "dajal" so we should handed over Islam to him also.
Shame on you, Shame on those politician who behave like Garbage, shame on my youth who are busy to destroy my Pakistan, shame on those stupid bastard who are working in media only for money and not only harming Pakistan harming Islam also.

But remember one day when all good and patriotic people will be unite we will through all garbage out of Pakistan.
I handed over this country to Allah because he knows better how to deal. Insha Allah "Allah will care for all my brave, innocent and patriotic people of Pakistan and Islam". The garbage one even though they will die but it is sure they bring with them self only hell where they will brun forever. Insha Allah

In Past our Defense Minsiter has said publically that we don't have technology to hit Drone but now it seems Talibaan has more dvanced Technolgy then our Nuclear Army. I think now this is the time that we should handover Paksitna to talibaan because they have more resources, more technology and leadership then us (as per government surces and talks).
