In the TFT editorial “ISI has taken over GHQ“ Najam Sethi in his immense wisdom says, "intelligence services must consciously be kept at arms length from GHQ because "field commanders must not get contaminated" or tainted by cloak and dagger operations in grey zones". And then goes on to name a few DGs ISI who were either not given command and 'side lined' to other unimportant staff appointments

True to the tradition Mian Shahbaz Sharif was elected unopposed as the Provincial Chief in the General Council meeting of the MLN. How democratic of the MLN to hold elections within the party and the nation is grateful to the council for re-electing Shahbz Sharif.? While Mian Nawaz Sharif has already been elected as the party president, it is hoped that the other near members of the Sharif famil

A suicide bomber struck near a car carrying the Chairman PPP (SP Group) Aftab Khan Sherpao and his leader-in-the-making son Sikandar Khan Sherpao, who were leaving after addressing a rally in Shabqadar, KPK. God saved the leaders though a number of their followers including 4 Policemen were injured one of whom succumbed to the injuries. More injured may also meet their Maker but thank Almighty All

As expected Syeda Waheeda Shah has been forgiven by the lady teacher Shugufta for assaulting and slapping the latter while performing her duties as the Presiding Officer at a polling station. It is not known whether the wretched lady teacher has forgiven her out of compassion, compensation, coercion or intimidation? In any case, in this land of the pure how can a poor teacher stand up to a mighty

Surprisingly the horrendous killings of Kohistan has not evoked the kind of condemnation it warranted from the rulers or the religious parties nor did it find the type of coverage it deserved either in the electronic or the print media. That shows the state of mind of the rulers, the media and probably the people as well who have started taking such killings as a usual routine matter. Not a day

What Waheeda Shah did to the lady presiding officer of the polling station is highly deplorable and most unbecoming of a lady aspirant legislator. Contrary to her brutal behaviour and a physical crime the conduct of the lady teacher presiding officer was most honourable and dignified. She just suffered the humiliation with tears in her eyes and subdued cries on her lips. She could have also retal

A controversy is raging over the internet on the rather persistent asking of a TV reporter from the former COAS General Aslam Beg Mirza if he would return the ‘Democracy” medal given to the army by the late BB, as he had subsequently conspired to bring down the BB’s democratic government through Mehran Bank scandal. However, under the changed environs when the wind is blowing against the general,

A parliamentary committee has recommended imposition of 2% Radio Tax on every recharge of the mobile phones and Rs. 30,000 to 40,000 on the purchase of new cars. It will make the PBC self reliant and stand on its own feet, says the committee. What a self reliance, one wonders, if it has to come through such an enforced indirect taxation on the hapless people of this country? Who in any case in
