It is clearly and unambiguously ordained that there is no hardship in practicing deen. La ikkra fid-deen. Somehow I cannot reconcile to it when I see the month of Ramzan falling in the hot months of June & July when the daily fast is 16 to 17 hours long and the mercury touches 50 degrees plus in some parts of the world like Sibi, Jackobabad, Cholistan and Thar deserts, Multan, Bahawalpur and Rahi

Believe it or not an ad with the picture has appeared on page-4, centre extreme right column in today’s Jang offering two pieces of Ghalaf e Ka’ba, made with about 4 kilos of gold for sale. The asking price (hadiya) is Rs. 4 crores! The ad reads that the pieces are being sold due to an urgent need for money.

It was indeed shocking and agonising to see the historic residency reduced to the ashes and along with it the invaluable heritage and many a rare memorabilia of the Father of the Nation lost to the nation for ever.
