Why Salman Taseer is sweeping abominations even after his death? Zardari made him sacrificial goat on blasphemy law.

International Professor

Salman Taseer is an unfortunate person who is sweeping abominations and hate even after his death. It should be a matter of suicide for a person if 500 clerics may issue a decree that he is not a Muslim and no clergy must lead his funeral prayers, top clerics refused to lead funeral prayers and even Imam of Governor House mosque refused to lead prayers.

Clerics forbid saying his absolution prayers, sweets were distributed on his death and even Mumtaz Qadri is decorated with rose petals. Hundred of peoples are visiting his home including local politicians. According to BBC hundred also praised him on face book and hundreds of lawyers voluntarily announced to fight his case, many top lawyers kissed on his cheeks. On the news of torture today ex. Federal Minister of Religious affairs of PPP has shown his anger.

And for the same person if Hillary Clinton may say that it is great loss of U.S., moreover all of those western countries that are trying to snatch veils and Burka’s from the heads of Muslim women, who have notoriety in introducing discriminatory laws against Muslims, their engineered courts are sentencing Muslims including women, their citizens are floating caricatures of Holy Prophet and their forces are killing Muslims are also busy in indication that killing of Salman Taseer is their great loss, then think patiently what status does Salman Taseer would had in prevailing society.

One national newspaper quoted that he was established mole of MI 6 and had backing of foreign intelligence agencies that is why he was appointed as Minister in Mush era.

No any top politician condemned his murder in direct terms (as an act of assassination) by declaring his murder as a criminal act but everyone is trying to hide behind veils, some are blaming extremism, some are bashing Gen. Zia and many are trying to take shelter behind democracy. Liberal fascist are trying to high jack situation by posing him martyr of liberalism (Shaheed). Unfortunately not a single top politician declared him martyred or Shaheed, media is reluctant to call him Shaheed. Whether it is not a joke that communists and atheists who did not believe on religion and Islamic terminologies are the only group to call him martyr or Shaheed? Whether it is not extremism to high jack Islamic terms by so called secularists of PPP, ANP and MQM and apply for their political benefits.

Strength of only and only 6000 persons is a shame for ruling party to attend his funeral; out of 6000 persons 4000 were police, army and agencies (refer daily Times report owned by Salman Taseer). President, any Governor of provinces, 90 % Federal Ministers, 97% Ministers of provinces, 100 % heads of any political party were absent, no top clergy of any sect or religion dared to join his funeral prayers. Not a single General was seen at the occasion.  While he was a serving Governor and Chief Minister of his province and President of Pakistan with the lame excuses did not participate in funeral.

Another sorrowful situation arise after killing of Salman Taseer that agencies reported that public could disgrace grave of deceased, so army was contacted and secret arrangements of burial in the grave yard of national martyrs of armed forces was arranged and army arranged the event of the funeral under protection. Later lower ranked soldiers were sent with flower wreaths, possibly to please overseas lords, to show them that how our army is in pitiable circumstances that need immediate dollars for fighting war of terror.

There is no doubt that Zardari pushed Taseer to visit prison cell and he assured “Presidential Pardon “, when Taseer realized that he has been mis-used under a satanic game plan, he inverted to his early stance against blasphemy law and later he announced that he only wanted changes in the blasphemy law which was introduced by a dictator, Ziaul Haq and was not in favour of abolishing the law. But it was too late and liberal fascists, gay & lesbian groups, prostitution gangs, foreign funded NGO’s and atheist journalists had high jacked his earlier stance and started propaganda by keeping gun on his shoulder for their vested interests. Overseas lords started to canonize him as Lion of anti-Islam forces for which he had no capacity to bear such a great burden of running any revolution against such kind of laws that has links with sentimental beliefs of Muslims.

Media groups and TV channels that have started a campaign against extremism after his killing, same anchors and journalists are responsible for running Islam bashing drive on the shoulders of Salman Taseer. Particularly Abbas Athar of Express group on advise of his Jewish owners of the express group (Those also owns McDonald chain), Moeed Pirzada, Naseem Zehra, Najam Sethi of Dunya TV, Asma Shirazi, brother of DG ISPR in ARY and many others were in forefront to show Salman Taseer as bravest person of the world. His wording that it is a Black Law was repeated dozens of times to create hate against Islam. Remember above and some others in media were deliberately trying to link statements of Taseer as part of war of terror, in their opinion one sided propaganda against terrorism on the name Taliban would have same significance and momentum to bash Islamic Law behind thumping of Gen. Zia and Blasphemy law. In the same context also remember that the same media cowardly black out news about FATA, SWAT and Baluchistan and those have been talking about promotion of Sufism, support of Army created Lashkars, declaring Gen. Kiyani as Quaid e Azam of humanity and profiling of Pakistani’s. The Brelvi and Shia ulema factions were mesmerized to issue statements against opposite sects to divide community.

But their plot has been failed and all religious groups have joined hands.

Retraction of liberal fascists to their stance against blasphemy law:

A Rahman Malik, Minister of Interior announced that if anyone would commit blasphemy he would kill him with bullet.

Sherry Rahman announced and retracted to her earlier role after fuelling situation and declared blasphemy law as part of her faith.

Syed Khursheed Ahmad Shah, the minister for labour and religious affairs, has stated that his party had no intention at all of changing the law or doing anything to prevent its misuse

Federal Ministers like Babar Awan, speaker national assembly and many other moderates, liberals and progressives retracted from their earlier stance against blasphemy law instigated by Zardari via Salman Taseer. Several PPP members spoke of amendments to the law introduced by Gen Ziaul Haq but no one came forward to rescue Salman Taseer.

Asma Jahangir pressurized family members of Taseer to name religious parties in the FIR (Refer Daily Jang of 08-01-11). Her Ahmadi husband is an established fact and her father in law Mian Fazal Husain is registred Ahmadi. Another Ahmadi Aamir Mir of Jang group has become crazy because being employee of MOSAD and Raw his major task is to create rift between Deobandi and Brelvi factions. Another Tahir Khalil of Jang group even did not feel shame to write another friend of Shafiq Qadri as Deobandi (Refer Daily Jang of 08-01-2011).

Issue of profiling after killing of Salman Taseer:

No one can computerize profiling of entire nation on the basis of their thoughts. According to our information existing profiling is not based on facts but it is politically motivated. Individuals who have compiled the lists earlier have used their sectarian opinion to include their religious opponents. Whole profiling available with ISI, MI, IB, Min of Interior and Min of Defense has same criteria. Fanatics have penetrated in political parties and every part of establishment is trying to camouflage its own beloved faction. Think whether Zardari and Gilani or Hamid Saeed Kazmi is not religious fanatics. Other ministers are presiding terrorist organizations at federal capital, some ministers of PPP have full time job to mobilize sectarianism.

Frahnaz Isfahani, Faisal Raza Abidi, Farzana Raja, Husain Haqqani and Abdullah Husain Haroon have full time job assigned by Zardari to promote sectarianism, majority of guests of President House are sectarian concerns. All appointments made by Yousuf Raza Gailani particularly in police are sectarian motivated. Mir Hazar Khan Bajarani, Mumtaz Alam Gailani, Samsam Bokhari, 90% Ministers of Sindh and southern Punjab are seen presiding sectarian organizations reported by media with images. And total strength of visible liberal fascists in Pakistan is not more than 3000 person, well organized and financed, and backed by ISI and IB, all type of fanatics, communists, extremists and loose character immoral persons are ruling on 180 million public.

If you may notice keenly than top suppliers of boys and girls could be seen with different Ministers. To confirm please see name of only one largest supplier of prostitutes at Islamabd, “Ghazanfar Mahdi” an official of Ministry of information, his images in media with Mumtaz Alam Gailani, Hamid Saeed Kazmi, Mir Hazar Khan Bajarani, Yousuf Raza Gailani and Ghulam Ahmad Bloor are witness that how sexually corrupt are our ministers, and how powerful are prostitution and alcoholic gangs at Islamabad.

General Musharraf was himself patron of Cat house at Islamabad. Major customers of brothels spread over F-6 to F-11 sector of Islamabad are junior officers of army and air force that is a security risk as 70% strippers, prostitutes and massagers are foreigners.

Immediate profiling after murder of Taseer means to remove anyone who go to mosque or keep beard. While Pushtoon, Deobandi, Ahle Hadis, sympathizers of JI and persons attending Tableeghi Jamat are already under victimization. And now after inclusion of Brelvi factions almost 90 % of population would be security risk.

Some talks about Salman Taseer:

I wrote a story about his family and how his father passed his life, please click for reference on the link given below. Unfortunately Salman Taseer was not true heir of thoughts of his father; he adopted artificial and luxurious way of life, he gathered a group of atheists around him. And of those so called friends no one bothered to attend his funeral due to fear of life. In his last days he bullied on various persons, used cheap wordings to insult others. He wrote Mian Nawaz Shariff as “Gongloo”, he attacked on King of Saudi Arabia and he used filthy language against Wahabi’s. We should not blame on his remarks because it is part of cheap Jiala culture prevailing in PPP to bully on any one.

Interestingly his father’s ideologies were quiet opposing to him, his father was against so called liberalism, his love for holy prophet was not hidden and he widely condemned so called secularists in his life. M D Taseer his father being a teacher assisted Allama Iqbal and preached his ideologies. His pen name was “Hijazi”and like other majority of anti-Imperialists he was also labeled as Wahabi.

In real life Salman was not a brave person and when he married to a Sikh woman and refused to adopt his own son, Atish Salman Singh, he had no courage to announce or accept publically. Even his son travelled to Pakistan and wrote a book about his relation with Salman Taseer but he never admitted in public.

Today the peoples who are declaring him lion are in fact made him fool in his life, pushed him in the mouth of monster and later left him alone. Zardari is his real murderer, who instigated and promised him that he will use his Presidential powers in Aasia Maseeh case, but it was great mistake of Salman Taseer to trust Zardari, one by one all ministers turned their back, Babar Awan, Satan Malik, Zardari and Gilani everyone cheated. The matter was not so simple and everyone knows consequences of siding with a convicted blasphemy criminal. According to Fareed Zakrya on CNN Zardari distanced from his funeral to please Islamists. Zardari apologists are giving lame excuse of blue book, firstly that is not holy book and there are dozens of instances when troika is seen together. Why gay Bilawal was not summoned to represent party at the occasion but all PPP’s top leadership moved to Karachi for the security of their rule.

Sherry Rahman who is now hiding and begging for her security is real culprit who flared up the situation, everybody know character of sherry and her services to bash Islam. The group around her is characterless as well. On his bill submitted in National Assembly the President suggested that members of the party would be prevented from moving private-member bills, another hypocrisy and cheating Salman Taseer.

Many PPP’s foolish leaders and liberal fascists termed this law as Zia made law for political numberings, on the same hatred Salman Taseer called it Black Law. Liberal fascists were trying to dictate Pakistan army as folks used in FATA and Swat areas. I ask them that decrees or Fatwa’s of all of above 500 Ulema was right a few days back and why it is wrong against Salman Taseer today.

The authorities that are propagating that above Ulema have no value and nobody should bother about their decree then why ISI and Ministry of interior was dying to seek decree from same Ulema against Taliban. Bogus Fatwa of Tahir Padri was propagated in media. Through Rahman Malik MQM gathered same Ulema to seek decree separately. Moreover ISI, ISPR and IB hired same sect Ulema to divide nation in Deobandi and Brelvi factions. Murder of Mufti Nayeemi was surely Joint venture of ISI and CIA. All bomb blasts at different shrine was a conspiracy to divide Muslims. Whether Sunni Tehreek was not promoted and financed by Yousuf Raza Gilani and Shah Mahmood Qureshi, both patronized many meetings of Sunni Tehreek to divide Muslims.

Government of Pakistan and its establishment is fully responsible for promoting extremism in the society for the sake of dollars on the dead bodies of so called Taliban. Agencies sneaked criminals in religious factions and those were used for target killings. Drama of Shaitan Malik and Altaf Husain is yesterday’s story to take name of Taliban and Lashkar e Jhangvi in every terrorism incidence to divide Muslims. Shia’s were targeted and those were pushed to rise against Sunnis’s. Mahdi army was established at Aiwan e Sadar and its armed wing was headed by Secretary Defense. Zulfiqar Mirza made his own Shia army for target killings. When Zulfiqar Mirza blamed in his speech for target killings then he named MQM and Sunni Tehreek. And after one week police nabbed eight persons of Mahdi army that were involved in target killings of Sunni doctors and scholars last week. Generally Shia or Sunni population is nothing to do with terrorism and target killings; it is Zardari and Kiyani joint venture to create hate among Muslims for sucking dollars.

Family members of Salam Taseer must act with wisdom and desire of Zardari to politicize his murder for vested interests would rebound and as much Government would try to pose him as Shaheed as much Mumtaz Qadri would achieve popularity of Ghazi. Moreover canonization of western countries would flare up religious parties and public. Even if he is punished his popularity would always be higher than Taseer and his grave would be centre of honor. Zardari is responsible for his death and current propaganda to mobilize atheists against Islamists would start another civil war.

Anyone that is stressing that Salman Taseer was brave, liberal leader, Shaheed or innocent is not his friend and want to cash his death for vested interests and public anger against his actions must be normalized instead of flaring public sentiments.

Images are self expalanatory and I have not taken any side, just high lighted how Government is sponsoring sectarianism, Taseer himself was part of same game. Please comment in general sense, is it not all part of war of terror to divide public.

APC accuses security agencies of extra-judicial killings

* Decides to launch joint movement against ‘state terrorism’, targeted killings and highway hold ups

By Mohammad Zafar

QUETTA: Almost all the major political parties of Balochistan have decided to launch a joint movement by holding protest rallies and public meetings to press the government stop ‘target killings’, and check incidents of kidnapping for ransom and highway holdups.

Addressing a joint press conference at the Quetta Press Club, Dr Jehanzeb Jamaldini of the Balochistan National Party (BNP) gave the details of the decisions of the All Parties Coordination Committee (APCC), claiming that the law and order situation was going from bad to worse because of the incompetent government in the province.

All the leaders agreed that the military operation in Balochistan seemed to be launched to intimidate the political opponents of the government.

The APCC had been formed during the recently held all-parties conference in order to launch a joint strategy to restore peace in Balochistan.

The leaders of several political parties including, BNP Acting President Dr Jehanzeb Jamaldini, Dr Ishaq Baloch of the National Party (NP), Abdul Rauf Lala of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP), Abdul Mateen Akhwandzada of the Jamaat-e-Islami, Abdul Malik Panezai of the Awami National Party (ANP), Abdul Khaliq Hazara of the Hazara Democratic Party (HDP), Qasim Khan of the Tehreek-e-Insaaf, Attahullah of the Balochistan Bar Association and Rahim Kakar of the Anjuman-e-Tajran were present on the occasion.

The party leaders alleged that the government and its functionaries were involved in extra-judicial arrests and killings, mainly of political activists and leaders opposed to the government.

They said the recovery of bullet-riddled bodies, targeted killings of innocent people belonging to Baloch, Pashtun and other ethnic communities were on the rise. They alleged that the security forces, instead of taking action against the culprits involved in these heinous crimes, violated the sanctity of homes by carrying out arbitrary raids.

They criticised the government and the law enforcement agencies for their failure to maintain peace and giving the criminals a free hand only to harass innocent people.

Dr. Jehanzeb Jamaldini claimed that it was a pre-planned conspiracy hatched against Balochistan and its people to create differences among them by encouraging criminal activities and targeted killings of political leaders and activists.

The APCC condemned all the inhuman acts of targeted killings whether it was being carried out against Baloch, Pashtun or any other community.

Jamaldini said the APCC would launch a political struggle against the state terrorism and to create awareness among the masses by carrying out rallies, holding seminars, mass gatherings and calling for shutter down or wheel-jam strikes more often.

He questioned the silence of the government on the killing innocent people in custody.

Court convicts imam and son for blasphemy

AFP

MULTAN: A Pakistan court has jailed a Muslim prayer leader and his 20-year-old son for life on controversial blasphemy charges in the rural centre of the country, court officials said Tuesday.

The case follows the killing of Punjab provincial governor Salman Taseer by his bodyguard last Tuesday, after the outspoken politician called for reform of the law that was recently used to sentence a Christian woman to death.

Mohammad Shafi, 45, and his son Mohammad Aslam, 20, were arrested in April last year for removing a poster outside their grocery shop advertising an Islamic event in a nearby village which allegedly contained Quranic verses.

Judge Mohammad Ayub, heading an anti-terrorism court in the central Pakistani town of Muzaffargarh, handed down a life sentence to the pair on Monday, his assistant Faisal Karim told AFP by telephone.

The prosecution alleged organisers of the event, which commemorated the anniversary of the Prophet Mohammad’s birth, said the pair had “pulled the poster down, tore it and trampled it under their feet,” Karim said.

“The judge sentenced them to life imprisonment on charges of blasphemy and ordered them to pay a fine of 200,000 rupees ($2,350) each,” he said.

Liberal politicians and human rights activists in Pakistan say the blasphemy law, which carries the death penalty for the worst offences, is sometimes used to settle personal scores and encourages extremism.

Defence counsel Arif Gurmani vowed to challenge the verdict in the high court because “it has been given in haste” and was the result of inter-faith rivalries, he said.

“Both are Muslims. The case is the result of differences between Deobandi and Barelvi sects of Sunni Muslims,” he said.

“Shafi is a practising Muslim, he is the imam of a mosque and he had recently returned from a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia…. I am defending them because I am convinced they are not guilty of blasphemy,” he said.

Nobody has been executed in Pakistan for blasphemy and those given the death penalty have so far had their sentences overturned or commuted on appeal.

Since Taseer’s assassination, right-wing religious clerics have heaped praise on his killer and stoked controversy over reform of the law. The government has said it has no plan to reform the law.

The controversy was sparked when former information minister Sherry Rehman tabled a private member’s bill in November, seeking to abolish the death penalty for blasphemy.

Qadri is still not convicted in any crime and is it not funny that Government has moved such type of laws. Zardari says that he is not convicted by any courts, whether he falls in same category. Which court sentenced the peoples of FATA and Swat and air force is killings those peoples with jets and U.S. by means of drones.

PPP's govt. is trying to politicize the killing of Salman Taseer for vested interests. It will rebound.

Pemra fined Waqt and Samma TV

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) imposed a fine of Rs1 million each on two private Pakistani television channels, Samaa TV and Waqt TV for what it described as “projecting terrorists and airing blood and gore.”

Both channels had reportedly aired interviews of Malik Mumtaz Qadri, the self-confessed assassin of late Governor Punjab, Salmaan Taseer. According to the press release, Pemra has taken immediate cognizance of the violations committed by these two satellite TV channels while covering the assassination of Governor Punjab, Salmaan Taseer.

Pemra issued notices to both channels on January 4, 2011 for “projecting terrorists/outlaw and screening blood and gore which by all means is in contravention to Pemra Rules, Regulations and Code of Conduct besides the self-regulatory Code of Conduct agreed to by the many members of PBA.”

Pemra says both of the channels were provided reasonable opportunity to show cause and explain their position in personal hearings held on January 6 and 10, 2011.

A Pemra spokesman also confirmed that Pemra chairman, Mushtaq Malik’s recent denial of the imposition of the fine was “old news” and the fine has been imposed as of today (Tuesday).

The complete text of the Pemra press release follows:

PEMRA IMPOSES FINE ON TWO TV CHANNELS FOR PROJECTING TERRORISTS, SHOWING BLOOD & GORE.

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has imposed fine on two Satellite TV Channels, SAMAA and Waqt TV amounting to Rs. 1 million each for projecting terrorists and airing blood and gore on their respective news channels.

According to the press release, PEMRA has taken immediate cognizance of the violations committed by these two satellite TV channels while covering the unfortunate incident of assassination of Governor Punjab, Salman Taseer on 4-1-11. The channels were also observed repeatedly airing interview of the assassin. PEMRA had issued notices to these two channels on 5-1-11 for projecting terrorists/outlaw and screening blood and gore which by all means is in contravention to PEMRA Rules, Regulations and Code of Conduct besides the self-regulatory Code of Conduct agreed to by the many members of PBA.

Under PEMRA law both these channels were provided reasonable opportunity to show cause and explain their position in personal hearings held on January 6 and 10, 2011.

Dear(s), Indeed, we didnt like the life-style of Salman Taseer & his family; a pro West culture but 'right to take the life'in an Islamic state is the responsibility of courts! So what Mumtaz Qadri has done is totally wrong! He is a killer & he will see this fate after his death, insha Allah! A wrong is wrong even it is done by Holy Prophet (sallahu alyhay wassulum)'s beloved Usama Bin Zayed (RA)!!!! This is what the real teaching of our beloved Holy Prophet(peace be upon him). So please dont consider Mumtaz Qadri hero...otherwise tomorrow a deubandi will kill a Barelvi, A Dawat-e-Islami worker will fight with Tableghi Jamaat fellow.....till yesterday..all the Ulema's incl Binnori Town team had declared Maulana Maudoodi as Kafir.......and today that one of the follower of that 'Kafir' (Munawar Hassan) is standing with them........This is just because of Allah.......In that rally...... Mufti Rasheed Ahmed (RA) (of Nazimabad Karachi) has penned down a fatwa that even marrying with a Jamati lady is haram.....hahah hehehehe......., When other Mufti's of Karachi (incl Mufti Shafi & Mufti Wali Hassan RA) inquired then he reverted back (or taken back his fatwa)....so this means that he was wrong & Maulana Moudoodi (RA) wasnt kafir! I am sorry ....Ulemas are also human beings & they make mistakes like a normal human beings.....so we need to review their thoughts (Fatwas) in the light of real teachings of Islam. It is good for young generation to read the books of Ahmed Raza Khan Barelvi (RA) and Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi (RA) to get to know the bottom of differences! If someone refuses to deny the funeral prayers for Salman Taseer then he should remember that our beloved Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) had offered the funeral prayer of Abduallah bin Ubayi, the great munafiq of that time!!!! With all differences with Salman Taseer and his life style......I feel that Salman Taseer was better than any munafiq.....because what he felt right he openly voiced and we cant see inside the heart of Salman Taseer!

Tahaffuz Namoos-e-Risalat holds rally

Don’t touch blasphemy law, demands rally

* Rally held to pressurise government to withdraw proposed amendment in blasphemy law

By Asad Farooq

KARACHI: Tahaffuz Namoos-e-Risalat, an alliance of religious parties, took out a big rally here on Sunday pressurising the government not to touch the blasphemy law, abolish the committee set up to review the law and withdraw the proposed amendment in the blasphemy bill from the National Assembly.

Hundreds of thousands of people participated in the rally taken out from Numaish Chowrangi to Tibet Centre. Protesters, carrying placards and banners, raised slogans against the United States and the government.

Tahaffuz Namoos-e-Risalat convener and Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan chief Dr Abul Khair Muhammad Zubair said that it was a matter of great concern that the present government had tabled a bill to amend the blasphemy law.

Dr Khair gave a deadline of January 30 to the government to dissolve the committee formed to review the blasphemy law, otherwise the next Tahaffuz Namoos-e-Risalat march would be organised in Lahore on Jan 30.

Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Syed Munawar Hasan said that rulers were intending to amend the blasphemy law on the directives of their Western idols.

He asked Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain and Punjab Chief Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif to come forward and take a stand in favour of blasphemy law because it is the matter of belief and religion of each Muslim.

Munawar demanded of Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani to withdraw the bill tabled to amend the blasphemy law.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Maulana Fazalur Reham said that the nation would not allow anyone to amend the blasphemy law.

He vowed that the Western agenda would not be allowed in the holy country of Pakistan, which came into being in the name of Allah and Prophet (PBUH).

He alleged that the government was expressing extremism in its struggle against the blasphemy law. It would have to drop its intention in this regard, he warned.

Nationwide rallies demand Qadri’s release

By: Nisar Mehdi And Israr Ahmed | Published: January 10, 2011

KARACHI/RAWALPINDI - A conglomerate of religious and politico-religious parties on Sunday organised a mammoth “Namoos-e-Risalat” (PBUH) rally in the metropolis and demanded of the government to immediately withdraw the private bill seeking amendments in blasphemy law.

The leaders of these parties announced to hold public meeting and Long March on 30th January in Lahore, if the government would not accept their demands. Hundreds of thousands of people belonging to all religious schools of thoughts attended the rally and warned the government to desist from becoming a party to the conspiracies hatched to repeal blasphemy laws.

They vowed that they would not tolerate any conspiracy to amend the blasphemy law and were ready to sacrifice their lives for the sanctity of Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

The participants of the rally were carrying the portraits of Malik Mumtaz Qadri, assassin of Salman Taseer, flags of Jamaat-e-Islami, JUI-F, outlawed Jamaatud Dawa and were chanting the slogans of “Death to Blasphemer” and “Down with USA”.The participants urged the government to immediately free Malik Mumtaz Qadri from the detention.

The leaders of Tehreek-e-Namoos-e-Risalat (TNR) Maulana Fazlur Rehman of JUI-F, Dr Sahibzada Abul Khair Muhammad Zubair chief of JUP and TNR, Munawwar Hassan of JI, Allama Jaffar Subhani of outlawed ITP, Qari Hanif Jalahandari of Wafaqul Madaris, Pir Abdul Khaliq of Markazi Jamaat-e-Ahle Sunnat, Qari Ahsan and Amir Hamza of Jamaatud Dawa, Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, Haleem Adil Sheikh of PML-Q and others addressed the rally.

Addressing the mammoth rally at Tibet Centre, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman demanded the withdrawal of the private bill that was tabled in National Assembly seeking amendment in blasphemy law. He urged President Asif Ali Zardari to immediately dissolve the parliamentary committee to review the blasphemy law and warned that the people of the country would not tolerate any word spoken against the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Maulana said that “evil forces want their agenda implemented in Pakistan to violate the sanctity of Prophet (PBUH)” and declared that entire nation is united to protect the name of Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Chief of JUP and TNR, Dr Sahibzada Abul Khair Muhammad Zubair said that historical meeting of TNR was the referendum against those who wanted to repeal the blasphemy law.

He said that we are ready to sacrifice our lives to protect the sanctity of our beloved Holy Prophet (PBUH) and warned that that they would not allow the conspiracy to make amendments in the blasphemy law.

JI Chief Munawwar Hassan said that the movement to protect the law was completely peaceful and asked Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to give the policy statement on the floor of the house regarding the blasphemy law.

Describing the proposed amendments in blasphemy law as foreign agenda, Syed Munawwar Hassan said the government’s move would be resisted at each forum. He asked the PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif and MQM chief Altaf Hussain to support the Tehreek-e-Namoos-e-Risalat (PBUH) and to represent the sentiments of 180 millions Muslims of the country.

Qari Ahsan of outlawed Jamaatud Dawa said that we couldn’t compromise on the blasphemy law saying that it was a divine law and nobody can change it.

He said that Beralvis, Deobandis, Shiites and Muslims belonging to all religious schools of thought are united to protect the blasphemy law.

Ahmed Khan, 21, student of Mass Communication, present in the rally said that we are united to protect the sanctity of our beloved Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and Holy Quran.

He said that Mumtaz Qadri was not a murderer; he is our leader and hero and urged the government to immediately release him from the detention.

The rally which was taken out from Numaish Chowrangi peacefully ended at Tibet Centre under the tight security umbrella as the large number of police and Rangers personnel was deployed across the route of the march.

In Rawalpindi, hundreds of Sunni Tehrik (ST) activists held at a protest demonstration on Benazir Bhutto Road (BBR) in favour of Malik Mumtaz Hussain Qadri, the alleged killer of Salman Taseer, and demanded of the government to release him.

The rally was led by ST Rawalpindi Ulema Board Chairman Allama Ghufran Mehmood Sialvi while scores of other activists including ST City Convener Allama Atta ur Rehman Dhanial, Mufti Sulman Rizvi, Syed Inayat ul Haq Shah, Pir Sarkar Ge, Allama Farooq Chishti, Mufti Khteeb Ahmed Al Azhri, Raja Shujah ur Rehman Advocate, Malik Abdul Rahuf, Sahibzada Shahid Mansoor, religious scholars belonging to different schools of thought, Shabab-e-Milli Pakistan’s office- bearers and workers and a large number of seminaries’ students took part in the protest demonstration.

The protestors were holding ST flags, portraits of Malik Mumtaz Qadri, banners and placards inscribed with slogans “Jurat or Bahaduri, Mumtaz Qadri, Mumtaz Qadri” and “Aashiq-e-Rasool (SAW) Ko Reha Kero”.

While addressing the protestors, Allama Ghufran said that the Muslim Ummah presented a salute to Malik Mumtaz Qadri for killing the governor on account of committing blasphemy. He said that the ST would provide legal and constitutional support not only to Qadri but also look after his family members.

“If Mumtaz Qadri is given death sentence, the whole nation will besiege the Parliament House,” Allama Ghufran said.

He said that ST was against terrorists and terrorism and demanded the shifting of case of Malik Mumtaz Qadri from anti-terrorism court to some other court saying, “Qadri did not commit any act of terrorism for which he was being presented before ATC.”

He mentioned that the President and Prime Minister should address the reservations of people by making announcement that blasphemy law would not be amended. He also demanded of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to provide security to the family members of Mumtaz Qadri.

ST Convener Allama Atta ur Rehman held the government responsible for current bad law and order situation in the country. He urged the members of NGOs not to promote western culture in Pakistan and avoid unnecessary interference into religious matters of Muslim.

He paid rich tributes to district bar association’s members on showing their willingness to appear before the court on behalf of Qadri during his first appearance.

Allama Atta ur Rehman and Raja Shujah ur Rehman also appealed to the masses to gather outside ATC tomorrow (Tuesday) at Rawalpindi at 9am to pay homage to their hero Qadri upon his appearance before the judge.

ST activists’ mess on BBR not only caused traffic blockage on BBR but also triggered massive gridlocks on the adjacent roads including Mareer Hassan, Mareer Chowk, Liaquat Road, College Road, Ganjmandi and City Saddar Road causing problems for commuters and pedestrians.

Police, on the occasion, made comprehensive security arrangements to tackle any untoward incident.

No bearded cop to guard VVIPs

By: Ashraf Javed | Published: January 08, 2011

LAHORE – In a major policy shift in the aftermath of Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer’s assassination by one of his security guards, the provincial government has begun proper screening and scrutiny of the officials of Elite Force to avoid any further untoward happening.

Well-placed sources revealed here on Friday that ten bearded personnel of Elite Force have been withdrawn from VVIP’s security as the governor’s killing sparked security concerns among the top politicians, particularly liberal and moderate ones.

Sources close to the Joint Investigations Team (JIT) probing into the assassination of Salmaan Taseer also disclosed to this reporter that the security agencies have arrested a suspect in connection with the on-going inquiry during a successful raid carried out in Sabzazaar area late on Wednesday night.

The suspect has been shifted to an unknown location for further interrogation, sources said, adding, there is a strong possibility that the suspect had links with Mumtaz Hussain Qadri, who gunned down Punjab Governor in the federal capital and later confessed the murder.

Sources also revealed that the investigators traced the suspect through the cellular phone of the killer as there were specific text messages on the handset of Qadri, an official of the Elite Force, established years ago to provide security cover to the VVIPs.

According to the police sources, a special team of the Elite Force comprising experienced officers have begun screening of the Elite Force officials in order to monitor their activities and religious leanings.

“Those policemen who are very religious will not be deployed on the security of VVIPs. A comprehensive screening and scrutiny is underway in this regard,” requesting anonymity a top police officer said but did not mention any further details. At present, out of 1012 officials of Elite Force 878 policemen have been deployed on the security of VVIPs here in the provincial metropolis.

According to the police record, more than 300 officials of Elite Force police are deployed for the security of PML-N leader Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif and their other family members.

Hundreds of others Elite Force personnel are also providing security cover to the top politicians and their families including Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and his family, Sardar Zulifqar Khosa, Law Minister Rana Sana Ullah, American Consulate General in Lahore, top judges including Chief Justice Lahore High Court, and police hierarchy including the Inspector General of Police Punjab and Capital City Police Officer.

Sources also revealed that initially all the bearded men would be withdrawn from the security fleet of VVIPs and would be deployed on general law and order duties.

The special team constituted in this regard has also been tasked to collect in detail the particulars of the Elite Force personnel including their sects, religious leanings, family background and association with religious groups.

After killing of Salman Taseer what Pakistan Media’s is saying:

Assassin linked with Dawat-i-Islami

RAWALPINDI: The Elite Force guard who gunned down Punjab Governor Salman Taseer is said to be associated with ‘Dawat-i-Islami’, a non-political and non-violent religious group with Barelvi leaning.

This was disclosed by a colleague of Mumtaz Qadri, the self confessed assassin.

http://www.dawn.com/2011/01/05/assassin-linked-with-dawat-i-islami-2.html

Following report is written by Aamir Mir, an Ahmadi and his full time task is to divide Deobandi and Brelvi factions. According to Hamid Mir he used to visit Benazir but no one asked him any question in killing of Benazir. His book was printed and published at India was financed by RAW. He is also established mole of ISI. How he describes event is eye opener:

Quote: As Taseer approached his car, a cry of ‘Allah-o-Akbar’ echoed in the air. Martyr Taseer now is to the cause of liberal values, to the secularism of the Jinnah brand, to the effort of recovering and restoring to Pakistan its moderate, modern Islamic soul.

The preliminary inquiry has revealed that Qadri was associated with Dawat-e-Islami, a religious group belonging to the Barelvi school of thought.

Hours after his assassination, over 500 Deobandi and Barelvi religious scholars praised Qadri for his brutal act, urging people to boycott the funeral ceremony of the ‘blasphemer’. Even the prayer leader of Lahore’s Badshahi Masjid declined the administration’s request to lead the funeral prayers. A PPP Maulana ultimately led the prayers. Even rallies were organised in parts of Punjab to celebrate the death of Taseer.

Days before his assassination, Taseer, who was a nephew of celebrated poet Faiz Ahmad Faiz, tweeted forebodingly: “I am under huge pressure to cow down before the rightist pressure on blasphemy. The extremists are giving me threats, they are using the name of Islam, they want to bring their own brand of Islam but I don’t give a damn...even if I am the last man standing”. His Facebook status reads: ‘R.I.P. Lion of the Punjab Salmaan Taseer (31 May 1944 - 04 Jan 2011)’. His web page lists his favourite quote as ‘How can a man die better than facing fearful odds, for the honour of his country and the temple of his gods’.

Qadri’s links with extremist group traced

Sources said Qadri’s relation with an extremist organisation based in Kohat has been traced. “The authorities arrested an official included in the security squad of Prime Minister Gilani on the basis of initial investigation from Qadri. The official also belongs to the Punjab Police,” the sources added.
However, another source confirmed the arrest of a policeman included in security squad of the premier, saying the arrest had no link with the information provided by Qadri, but this policeman had links with extremists.
The initial investigation report reveals that Mumtaz Qadri was recruited in the Punjab Police in 2002. At that time, he had a long beard, and had inclination towards Deobandi school of thought. However, after joining the Punjab Police, he reduced his beard, though there is no ban on long beard in the police as it is in the air force.

Qari Haneef instigated Taseer’s killer

According to police sources, the governor’s self-confessed killer, Mumtaz Qardi, revealed that he made up his mind to assassinate Salmaan Taseer in a religious gathering addressed by Qari Haneef in his locality, Col Yousuf Colony on December 31. Qari Haneef made an emotional speech which instigated Qadri into killing the governor, the police said. He participated in the gathering in official uniform and recited Naat having his official gun on his shoulder. The police has started a search for Qari Haneef to arrest him, the channel said.

Police arrested at least eight persons on Thursday late, whose SMSs were found in the mobile phone of Qadri. The names of arrested persons are being kept under wraps. These men incited Qadri into killing Taseer. They had alleged in their SMSs that Taseer had committed blasphemy. Also, the CPO had been asked to explain as to why Qadri’s name was included in the security squad of Salmaan Taseer, the channel reported.

Backing of Qadri:

The religious parties Wednesday were all praise for Mumtaz Hussain Qadri, the assassin of Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer, and warned the govt that any attempt to repeal or amend the blasphemy law would be resisted.

In Multan, Tehrik Tahaffuz-e-Namoos-e-Risalat (TTNR) offered full legal and moral support to Qadri, saying no stone would be left unturned to get him released.

“We’ll dedicate our all out energies and resources for the sacred cause. We’re also going to hold a ‘successful’ public meeting in Karachi on January 9 for the protection of the Namoos-e-Risalat,” announced a joint declaration issued by the Multan chapter of the body after an emergency meeting held at the Jama’at-e-Islami (JI) office.

The meeting, chaired by the local president of TTNR Mufti Hidayatullah Pasroori, was attended by the representatives of all religious parties including JI, JUP, JUI and Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadith besides lawyers and traders.

“The arrest of family members of Ghazi Mumtaz Hussain Qadri is highly condemnable. The government has no logic to detain them. They should be released forthwith,” demanded the declaration.

The clerics further asked of the government to immediately dissolve the committee formed by President Asif Ali Zardari to amend the blasphemy law (295-C) and withdraw Sherry Rehman’s bill; otherwise, the rulers would be responsible for any related development.

“He (Salmaan Taseer) himself is responsible for his killing. No Muslim can tolerate blasphemy,” said Pasroori while addressing the meeting. He said the killing of someone on the issue of blasphemy was nothing new in the region. “Those who committed blasphemy have been facing the same fate in the past.”

TTNR Secretary-General Dr Ashraf Ali Ateeq warned the rulers to mend their ways and seek forgiveness from Almighty Allah for their blasphemous behaviours. “They’re bent upon hurting the religious sentiments of Muslims to appease their foreign masters. We warn them to refrain from making such ill-advised moves; otherwise, they’ll have to face serious consequences,” he added.

The declaration also condemned TV talk shows, saying the way the issue was being presented before the public was highly deplorable. “The propaganda campaign launched by so-called anchors and intellectuals on different TV channels is highly condemnable. It should be stopped forthwith.”

The TTNR demanded the prime minister to state in clear words that he had no intention to amend the 295-C.

The meeting was attended among others by Maulana Abdul Haq Mujahid, Maulana Khalid Mahmood Nadeem, Maulana Inayatullah Rehmani, Maj (r) Muhammad Iqbal, Athar Aziz Advocate, Muhammad Ayub Mughal, Arshad Iqbal Niazi, Hafiz Zafar Qureshi, Rao Arif Rizvi, Muhammad Younus Ghazi, Sufi Abdul Rehman Bhatti, Amir Mahmood Naqshbandi and Zubair Siddiqui.

In Karachi, the leaders of various religious parties made similar demands and urged the govt not to torture the assassin during interrogation.

In a unanimous resolution passed by All Parties Conference (APC) on ‘Tahaffuz-e-Namoos-e-Risalat: Muslimano ki Zimadarian (Muslims’ Responsibilities)’ organised by JUP Karachi chapter, they demanded President Zardari and Prime Minister Gilani to assure the nation that the government would not repeal the blasphemy law.

They also asked the people to be aware of the ‘conspiracies hatched of the government’ about amending or repealing the law.

JI Sindh chief Asadullah Bhutto, Qazi Ahmed Noorani of JUP, Maulana Jaffar Subhani of Islami Tehreek, Mufti Usman Yar Khan of JUI-S, Maulana Afzal Sardar of Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadith, Naveed Qamar of Jamaat-ud-Dawa, Ali Ausat of PAT, Qazi Ahsan of Majlis Tahaffuz-e-Khatm-e-Nabuwwat (PBUH), Zia Abbas of NPP and others were present on the occasion.

Lawyers shower roses for governor’s killer

LAHORE: Lawyers showered the suspected killer of a prominent Pakistani governor with rose petals when he arrived at court Wednesday and an influential Muslim scholars group praised the assassination of the outspoken opponent of laws that order death for those who insult Islam.

Mumtaz Qadri made his first appearance in an Islamabad court, where a judge remanded him in custody a day after he allegedly sprayed automatic gunfire at the back of Punjab province Gov. Salman Taseer while he was supposed to be protecting him as a bodyguard.

A rowdy crowd slapped him on the back and kissed his cheek as he was escorted inside. The lawyers who tossed handfuls of rose petals over him were not involved in the case.

As he left the court, a crowd chanted”death is acceptable for Muhammad’s slave.” The suspect stood at the back door of an armoured police van with a flower necklace given to him by an admirer and repeatedly yelled ”God is great.”

More than 500 clerics and scholars from the group Jamat Ahle Sunnat said no one should pray or express regret for the killing of the governor. The group representing Pakistan’s majority Barelvi sect, which follows a brand of Islam considered moderate, also issued a veiled threat to other opponents of the blasphemy laws.

”The supporter is as equally guilty as one who committed blasphemy,” the group warned in a statement, adding politicians, the media and others should learn ”a lesson from the exemplary death.”

Jamat leader Maulana Shah Turabul Haq Qadri paid ”glorious tribute to the murderer … for his courage, bravery and religious honor and integrity.”

Mumtaz Qadri told interrogators Tuesday that he shot the liberal Taseer multiple times because of the politician’s vocal opposition to the harsh blasphemy laws.

Qadri- a man of rigorous religious views
Qadri, a religious hardliner was attached to Dawat-i-Islami and was a strong believer of the sermons delivered by the clerics.

He often used to attend the sermons and religious gatherings and was also attached to a renowned religious personality of the country (disciple of Peer of Golra Shareef).

A resident of Muslim Colony on the condition of anonymity told this scribe that Qadri among all his family members was the most religious one, with strong beliefs and was a regular visitor of milad mehfils in the area.
He lastly attended religious a gathering organised in Rawalpindi against any proposed amendment in the blasphemy law.

Soon after the incident police was deployed at his residence to avoid any harm to the family members. However, the police have also arrested four officials of elite force who were in the governor’s squad but finished their duty before the duty time.
So far 36 officials of elite force, police and special branch have been arrested in the assassination case for investigation.

Mahdi Force busted

KARACHI: The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the Capital City Police has busted a key sectarian network, the Mehdi force, which operated under the umbrella of the banned organisation Sipah-e-Mohammad.

SIU SSP Raja Umer Khattab said his team has nabbed eight hardcore militants of the network, including its mastermind Tanveer Abbas, along with a huge cache of weapons.

Tanvir Abbas alias Kashif alias Mehdi along with Abrar Hussain, Pervez Zaidi, Riffat alias Jehangir and Hasnain Abbas were arrested in the first encounter near NED University with a vehicle with fake official numberplates (GS-0022) early Sunday morning. Later, Sikandar alias Sajid, Ali Mehdi alias Bubblo and Kumail were arrested during separate raids. All eight suspects hail from the city and most of them were residents of Orangi town, Buffer zone, Malir and New Karachi.

They have been accused of being involved in at least a dozen sectarian target killings, including the murder of three doctors. The group targeted sympathisers and members of the banned Sipah-e-Sahaba, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and Jaish-e-Mohammad, because of which a strong backlash would occur and the attacked groups would retaliate against the Shia community more violently.

Describing the modus operandi of the Mehdi force, Khattab told The Express Tribune that it was a well-trained extremist unit that had various sources of funding.

“The mastermind Tanvir Abbas used to pay Rs15,000 as a salary to his men who would pull the trigger and Rs8,000 to those who conducted surveillance of the targets,” he said, adding that the suspect would also organise weapons and explosives training to the men at facilities in hideouts in the northern areas, including Parachinar and Gilgit. (Haider MP of MQM killed last month was head of Mahdi army at Karachi)

The group was also alleged to be involved in numerous car snatchings and robberies. According to the police, Tanvir Abbas had on the directives of another cell chief Ashraf set up the group in April 2009 and a total of Rs7 million had been spent on training and equipment.

Leghari took a cautious approach when asked whether another country could be involved in the group’s funding, saying that they were “still investigating that angle”. Sources within the SIU said, however, that leads were pointing towards groups operating in Iran.

Also, a clear link between the Mehdi force and Majlise Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM), a local religious organisation has also been uncovered.

The MWM’s Karachi leadership is being led by Hasan Zafar and Punjab chapter by Raja Nasir. Both are under police surveillance.

The nabbed militants, Tanvir Abbas, Abrar Hussain, Pervez Zaidi, Riffat alias Jehangir, Hasnain Abbas, Sikander alias Sajid, Ali Mehdi alias Bubblo and Kumail had previously managed to escape when the police engaged them near Moti Mahal in Gulshan-e-Iqbal on December 18. However, this time with the support of an intelligence agency’s wiretapping facilities, they were caught.

Khattab said that another cell of the same network led by a person with the codename Ashraf remains at large and efforts were being made to bust his cell that includes Shafaat Hussain, Mohsin, Farhat, Danish and Zeeshan Ali Abbas. Arrests on December 2 led to clues. “Ashraf was in contact with two groups and often he visited Federal B area to provide them money,” the SP said. “Usually, they keep a Suzuki pick-up as backup for the motorcyclist target killers.”

The CCPO said a target list containing the names of 15 prominent religious leaders was also in their custody, but he declined to give names, citing security reasons.

The Mehdi force members have been charged with the murders of Dr Babar Mannaan (killed within Mominabad police station limits), Dr Javed Shakoor (Nazimabad), Dr Khursheed (Orangi), Mohammad Nisar (Godhra camp), Maawia, a son of Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan central leader Maulana Ghafoor Nadeem  (Taimuria), Mukhtar Ali (Khuwaja Ajmer Nagri), Naeem Ahmed (Mominabad), Ashraf Haroon  (Orangi), Mushtaq Ahmed (Baloch Colony), Qari Iqbal (Surjani), Mohammad Imran (Shahrae Noor Jehan) and Mudassir Alam (Sir Syed).

The arms recovered from the suspects, included AK-47s, hand grenades, 9mm rifles and TT pistols, apart from large rounds of ammunition. CCPO Leghari has recommended promotions for the SIU staff.

Raja Umer Khattab told The Express Tribune that the families of the suspects as well as some clerics, including Maulana Hassan Zafar Naqvi, were trying to give the impression that the men were innocent and had therefore already held press conferences. “Actually, some of them, including Tanvir Abbas, managed to escape during an encounter near Moti Mahal in Gulshan-e-Iqbal on December 18,” he said. “Later, in a bid to avoid arrests, they took their clerics into confidence and started holding press conferences to try and put pressure on the police to stop the raids.” January 3, 2011
