The CHANGE
Tahir ul Qadri has just spoken out my heart. I have been saying the same for a long that unless we have clean people to elect from how can we ever elect good people amongst from the birds of the same dishonest and corrupt flock. Don’t we know that the party tickets are given only to either family members or to those who can pay millions and millions towards the “Party Funds”?!
As expected quite a few TV anchors, political analysts and politicians started criticizing Qadri Sahib for his ideas and termed his call to assemble at Islamabad on 14 January 2013 as a “Lashkar Kashi” They insisted that the change must come through the electoral process, that is elections. Now we all know that without implementing the conditions for elections and the qualifications for the contestants as laid down in constitution, such as Article 62 f of the constitution asking them to be honest – sagacious – ameen etc., are fully implemented the same kind of politicians will again be there to loot and plunder the national exchequer. It would also be foolish to expect from them to bring about any changes in the system. I would, therefore, suggest a way out to Qadri Sahib to make his to plan work ‘democratically’. He should prepare a fresh bill enunciating the ch anges that he wants and give it to the present parliament to pass and enact it into a law. Now, in order to make the “reluctant” parliamentarians do it, he should stage a peaceful and orderly sit-in in front of the parliament for as long as it takes the parliamentarians to yield into doing it. This way the bill ensuring the cleansing of the dirty politicians would be passed by the legislators themselves and the whole process would be a purely democratic one! The act must then be implemented FULLY by the Election Commission and the Judiciary to ensure election of the only Honest, Sagacious and Ameen to the parliament and for the future governance.
