The Chairman PESS says that "nowhere he has seen the media being given that kind of freedom to discuss the substance of the parleys taking place between the govt. and the extremists".  And, I say “nowhere is seen any parleys taking place between a legit govt. and the lawless extremists and terrorists challenging the writ of the govt. that blatantly.  Parleys are always held between more or less the equals and in such talks there is always an element of give and take on both sides.  What does the govt. intend to give in or yield to the killer terrorists and what does it expect from them in return?  They refuse to recognize the constitution of Pakistan and want to impose Shariah of their own brand and that too through the barrel of the gun!!  Can a ridiculously minimal section – not even 1 percent of the population -  enforce its will over the 99 percent of the rest of the countrymen? Their only strategy is to exploit t! he naïve by calling for the enforcement of Shariah which no Muslim can oppose or dare challenge for the fear of sword of Damocles hanging over his head in the form of Anti Blasphemy or Anti Islamic laws and we let their most Un-Islamic practices be imposed upon us in the name of Islam.  Is beheading of the armless and helpless prisoners of war (captives) Islamic by any stretch of imagination?  Is the bombing and killing of the innocent in mosques, Imam Bargahs, Churches and other places of worship allowed in ANY Shariah?  It is time that such terrorists are told unequivocally to stop killing and bombing, owe full allegiance to the constitution of Pakistan and lay down their arms  before any amnesty or pardon could be granted to them.  Or else – a vigorous, dynamic, quick short and potent surgical operation with all the might of the govt. is the answer to nip this evil forever. The peaceful populace of the area should be allowed and assist! ed by the govt. to vacate the areas before the commencement of! the ope rations.  Similarly, Pak-Afghan borders must be vigilantly monitored by air and ground day and night to not the terrorists cross over to the other side.  The Afghan govt. must be told in no uncertain terms not to harbor any dissidents and to hand them over to Pakistan if any.  Unless serious and fool proof measures are not taken to eradicate the evil once for all the scourge is likely to reappear after some time and could be more problematic to deal with at that time.
