Lawyers' Movement

Messrs Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan have pledged their full support to the Lawyers' procession on 9 March 2009. While wishing them the Best of Luck, I would request them to emphasise on HONEST JUDICIARY instead of the INDEPENDENT JUDICIARY.  I think judiciary is quite independent already and can pass any judgment it wishes - unfortunately not always judicious. No wonder most decisions of the lower courts are reversed in the higher courts. It is a common knowledge that the moneyed class with smart lawyers can get away with any crime. We know what all goes on in our courts and how. And what role the lawyers play in it. However, if the judiciary is HONEST, it would be BOLD, answerable only to Allah (SWT), pronounce judgment on merit alone, will not be influenced by any one and thus will automatically become INDEPENDENT also.

Let's have, therefore, HONEST judiciary and may Allah (SWT) help us all in getting one.
