It is not known whether Gen Shuja – DG ISI is visiting Washington on the behest of the GOP or has been ‘summoned’ there by the CIA and US administration. Whatever the case, hope he does not ask for the resumption of the stopped military aid. Neither does he yield to any threats as gone are the days of reducing Pakistan to stone age. Anyone even thinking of any action against Pakistan in ANY

USembassy Islamabad reportedly held a “Gay, Lesbian Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) Pride Celebration” ceremony on June 26th 2011 to show Washington’s support and solidarity towards the GLBTs of Pakistan. Could there be anything more stupid than this for the USA to do in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, where such homosexuality is not only looked down upon with utmost scorn and contempt but also

Bilawal Zardari Bhutto was shown accompanying President Asif Ali Zardari who called upon the British PM David Cameron on July 1st instant. They were received by the PM at the entrance of the famous 10 Downing Street, London. All looked to be immaculately dressed in dark suits for the occasion, only Bilawal having his jacket buttons open displaying his colourful necktie down to his waist belt. This

A lot is being said and written in the media about the causes and effects of the MQM quitting the coalitions at the centre and the province, including the gubernatorial office. The root cause, so far surfaced, looks to be the postponement of the bye elections for two seats at Karachi. The MQM leadership has made it amply known that they were being pressured by the PPP government to surrender one s

While addressing an election gathering in Azad Kashmir MNS castigated the PPP government of high corruption, saying that not a day passes when some mega corruption scandal involving billions does not surface. The question arises what is the opposition and the leader of the opposition doing in the assembly? Is it not their task and duty to keep a check on the government and not allow it a free

DG Rangers was shown entering the Supreme Courts of Pakistan along with the IG Sindh in the TV news. While the IG Police was in uniform the General was in a blazer, slacks, open collar shirt and without any headgear. If he wore a scarf around the neck, that was not very visible. This was a strange sight, to say the least, for an old soldier. Was the General coming to the Supreme Courts of

Seeing the video footage of the killing one can say without hesitation or reservation that it was a most unfortunate, most gruesome and totally uncalled-for COLD BLOODED MURDER. The perpetrators of such a heinous crime must not go unpunished. The Rangers must pay Deeat to the family from their own Regimental funds, which if insufficient, should be made good by collecting the required amount from

I wonder if it would not be appropriate and to put the record straight for the posterity that the Supreme Court of Pakistan also examines the legal aspect of ZAB taking over the country as its President on December 20th 1971. Apparently the PPP had participated in the general elections held in the ‘united’ Pakistan in 1970 and lost in it. No fresh elections were held thereafter in the remaining
