Surprisingly the dismal and all time low performance of our hockey team in the world cup has resulted only in the dismissal of the hockey team selection committee and the office bearers of the hockey federation. I am at a loss to find an appropriate word for ghairat in English probably there is none because they have none of it. He equates the honourable act of the FATA Senators of not subjecting themselves to the body scan at the US airport with thei

The cancer of corruption is spreading world wide, some spots with thicker growth while others in the growing tumorous stage, but prevalent never-the-less all over. Unfortunately, Pakistan falls in the thick growth area and rated as one of the most corrupt countries, way up in the ladder of the world corruption order. Unbelievable is the word that comes to one’s mind on listening to the GeoNews story of a PIA Captain flying his friend to London without ticket, boarding card or the immigration formalities!! I have flown a lot and always found the airlines crew going through the immigration and customs like other passengers, though a little preferentially.

As the nation waited eagerly for the promised good news the airwaves emanating from all TV channels in Pakistan from 3:30 p.m. onwards were abuzz with the news and views on the CJP meeting with the PM. Apart from the clippings showing the PM cordially receiving the CJP and the two exchanging pleasantries, the TV anchors remained animatedly engaged in obtaining the views and comments of the legal e

Not a day passes when one doesn’t receive an SMS enticing the naïve to take part in Lotos and Lotteries of all sorts. Early this morning I received one such SMS reading “It is the Winning Times. Write JK (most probably Jazz Khazana or some thing of the sorts) and send it to 5555. It will entitle you to win the 50,000 of the day. Charges Rs. 8/= plus Sales Tax plus SMS charges”.
