British air stewardess dies after Dubai building fall

A British air stewardess has been found dead after falling from a building in Dubai.

Police are investigating how Evelyn Clarke, who worked for the Dubai-based Emirates Airlines, came to fall to her death in the early hours of Monday morning. There was no immediate claim of foul play.

Social media sites were full of tributes to her yesterday, with a special Facebook memorial page set up to honour her.

"I can't believe you're gone," wrote Kay Anderson. "Loved the way you laughed in the face of anything bad that was thrown at you. You had life's priorities in the right order, family and friends but most of all love. You are an inspiration to so many people."

The page described her as "always smiling, always happy. She wanted to travel the world and see as much as possible, she couldn't get enough of it. Her positive attitude and energy could light up the whole sky."

On Twitter, Natalie Gibson said: "Sometimes things knock you for 6, another beautiful person taken from us, sleep peacefully sweetheart."

Another laurel earned by Dubai

Dubai which is one of the federating units of the UAE has earned so many awards, rewards and distinctions on different counts over some years that none on the face of earth whether in east or west or for that matter in south and north can boast alike and perhaps it has already reached to such an extent that none can even come near to it what to talk of surpassing it.

However, I am going to highlight that despite above claims yet another aspect which also very clearly distinguishes and excels Dubai over others so it can be said with conviction and authority that here also the tiny emirate has earned a new laurel though a bit negatively but nevertheless this is what others cannot claim alike in any case. Needless to mention, United Arab Emirates is the country with Abu Dhabi as its capital and Dubai is just like Sharjah, Ajman etc to mention a few but nevertheless one way or the other Dubai has earned its own name and it has rightly even take over its capital in a sense that most of people in the whole world know Dubai whereas not many know about Abu Dhabi for that matter proves in quite crystal clear terms about the tiny emirate.

Many rulers who had been toppled in their countries have shifted to Dubai when they felt uneasy back home and they stayed here for as long as they did not feel comfortable to move out if it. Some political leaders who had felt threat to their lives in their own countries had no alternative but to quit and take refuge in Dubai. Luckily most of those who fall in these two categories were from Pakistan and India though some from Africa too had been here on different occasions. Some business magnets enjoying big purse too had been attracted by the place where they very happily invested their money for multiplication and they did succeed in their ventures.

Frankly speaking Dubai ruler is the main brain and motivating force to uplift Dubai to the greatest highest and under his gigantic leadership it has earned such a name at global level though just about 25 years ago Dubai was just an ordinary place whether one talks of its airport, shopping malls, infrastructure, telecommunication and road net work is concerned but hats off for the ruler who took it to his heart to get Dubai reckoned at international level and he did succeed in his efforts. It is not the money but the brain and the aspirations which count otherwise Dubai had been run over by those whose per capita income is more than Dubai but none could even come nearer to it very well substantiates the argument that brain gets an edge over money.

What surprises me the most is that how and why Dubai has been selected even for committing suicide despite the fact that it is known to be the place to live on and not die but regretfully same Dubai which attracts millions of people all 365 days a year from each and every corner of the world has also been picked up by some for death as well. Before I touch to actual deaths under reference I would like to remark that the two most recent deaths occurred in Dubai relate to ladies which means that not men but women picked up the place to end their lives. As a matter of fact more men than women visit Dubai for many cogent reasons but one way or the other no man has committed suicide in Dubai but women did. None wants to die be male or female so from that point of view it is really very much perplexing at least for me if not you to understand as to what compelled Evelyn Clarke to take off her life by jumping off in Dubai from a high rise building on Monday 8^th April and die. She had been employed by Etehad Airways which she liked very much because she was fond of travelling and therefore an airline like Etehad was the right answer for her to satisfy her ego by running around from place to place but then she killed herself right in Dubai raising a question as to how Dubai could be instrumental in exciting or igniting to kill the girl. Just two months back another one ended her life in the same manner. She was Abbie Ellson just 27 years old who had come all the way to Dubai on honeymoon but regretfully she ended her life while residing at a 5 star hotel. Isn’t it very much strange that both of these women were British meaning by that despite the fact that Dubai attracts bulk majority of visitors from USA and Europe but none except British committed suicide in Dubai.

The two British ladies have earned a new laurel for Dubai in a sense that Dubai is the only place for committing suicide as well which as such earned another feather into its cap.
