Holy Ramazan gift

Yesterday it was Friday which is the most sacred day in any week but truly speaking it was not any Friday other than Ramazan Friday meaning by that it was much more important than any Friday in an Islamic almanac but unfortunately some devil took advantage of the day and killed 50 odd people and injured more than 100 in just one go.

The sad incident took place in Jamrud, Khyber where more than 300 people including women and children have come to a mosque to offer Friday prayers. Numerically 50 have died but in reality around 300 have died simply because it is Pakistan where we live in joint family and none lives in solitude therefore I can say on my honor that bulk majority of those, if all, who have been killed must be supporting either their wives; children; parents; brothers and sisters etc so now when the very bread earner is gone then consequently his dependents though still alive are none but dead metaphorically. Then there are odd 100 injured also and Allah only knows what could be their fate. How many will die of their wounds? Who will be incapacitated for the rest of his / her life whereas who will be impaired partially? Who will feed the dependents of the injured who due to the wounds will not able to work and earn whatever meager he was earning?

Mosque is rightly called House of Allah where all come just to offer prayers and therefore internationally speaking it is the safest place one can find on the face of earth and many a time we have read and heard that people have taken refuge in a mosque as and when they felt in secured. It is not fiction but fact that at times people have left their houses and took shelter in a mosque instead simply because the very basic morality tells us that any place of worship is not to be attacked in any case. In wars too places of worship like mosque, church and temple, to name a few, are never attacked like hospitals and clinics are not targeted. It is really unexplainable shame for us to have inhuman like him who killed the worshipers for no reason and rhyme and for none of their fault. How did we evaporate the sanctity of mosque and changed its definition?

I have heard and seen on television what our VVIPs and others from the power corridor have said about the mass killing in the mosque and to be honest it is their greatness to not only condole the untimely deaths of the poor innocent people  but also sympathized with those who were hurt.  They also gave full assurance to the aggrieved families that the killer, even if he himself is killed in the blast along with others, will be brought to justice (not copying Bush).  At least I must thank our leadership for their humanitarian concerns about their fellow compatriots who voted for them and will always vote for them as and when need arises.

What next? Should people stop going to mosque? What about coming last Friday prayer when there will be more than what we had yesterday? Where to pray Eid ul Fiter which will be annual biggest congregation in any case? I have neither capacity nor ability to answer these questions and thus I leave it to you to answer remembering that our VVIPs will not answer so help yourself.
