Colonel (˜Ñäá) Imam was killed by Hakimullah Mehsud - the Emir of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) - who was himself killed by a US drone attack on 1 November. Colonel Imam was kidnapped along with his fellow ISI officer Khalid Khawaja, British journalist Asad Qureshi and his driver Rustam Khan on March 26, 2010. Qureshi and Rustam were released in September 2010. Khawaja was killed a month later and Colonel Imam was killed in January 2011. His real name was Brigadier Sultan Amir Tarar. The video shows Hakimullah Mehsud killing Colonel Imam. Click the link below to watch the footage that was put on U Tube.

The speech made by Hakimullah before he shot the retired Brigadier is the propaganda line of all Takfiri Groups. The stand of sectarian political parties like the JI and JUI(F), who called Hakimullah a Shaheed, is unacceptable; these parties and Imran Khan are as much responsible for the reign of terror carried out by the TTP as the TTP itself. Unless the nation stands firm in expressing extreme revulsion against attacks on Muslim by Muslims in the name of Jihad and Islam, those with guns would swagger around as ‘mujahideen’ in a never ending strife. It is time we stood up to the Takfiri menace – the people and the government together. It is now time to stand up to killers in our midst regardless of their excuse and exercise our right of self defence.
