Thank you Mr President

I have no idea how much public money has been spent by our President Asif Ali Zardari who went with a big entourage wherein his son and two daughters were included along with interior minister Malik Rehman, Senators Naek and Babar and other officials for one day trip to Ajmer but to me and definitely for some others also the best news, if not the only good news, is that our renowned microbiologist Prof Dr Khalil Chishti has been granted interim bail by the Supreme Court of India.

Case details are that Prof Dr Khalil who is now 80 years old had visited his sick mother in Ajmer in 1992 and, as the bad luck had it, there had been some quarrel wherein a man was killed and wrongfully Prof has been accused of killing the man hence he is sent to jail. He has been imprisoned as per the orders of Rajasthan High Court and undoubtedly due credit goes to none but President Zardari who very kindly talked about Dr with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who hosted a lunch in his honor and such chit chat between the two leaders proved to be very effective and instrumental in at least getting the professor released on interim bail.

Not only Dr Khalil, his family and friends but also the general public of Pakistan says big thank you for Zardari and it is very earnestly hoped that since the ice is already broken one day Dr will come back to Karachi if not earlier than on the day when Manmohan Singh arrives to Pakistan as he accepted the invitation of Zardar.
