Khosa reappointed DG FIA

THE government, in the directions of the Supreme Court, has reappointed Tariq Khosa as Director-General Federal Investigation Agency, reports a private TV channel.
A notification was issued in this connection on Thursday.
After his removal from the post some days back, Tariq Khosa was appointed as Director-General Anti-Narcotics.
The Supreme Court bench had expressed its dismay over the removal of DG FIA Tariq Khosa.
It is worth mentioning here that Tariq Khosa had played a vital role in Haris Steel Mills case probe and he was removed allegedly to divert the proceedings which could expose big guns involved in the

                                                         Is it slap or clap?

Tariq Khosa has been reappointed as DG, FIA is one of the leading news flashed in Pakistan today Friday 18th December, 2009 and many journalists, analysts had already commented about his removal a few days and even now they will comment upon his restoration but my angle is a bit different.

Why was he removed, in first instance, is my question? Why has he been put back is my next question? Will all postings, transfers, appointments and promotions will be first approved by Supreme Court is my yet another question? This is very much lamenting to note that the honest and loyal person is not patted and instead ridiculed in my beloved Pakistan. Tariq Khosa is the person who as DG, FIA despite all pressures and threats etc stood up like a rock to expose many big fish who had looted huge money not only in Bank of Punjab but also in Haris Steel Mills and very much surprisingly Pakistan government in general and ministry of interior in particular removed him from FIA and posted him in narcotics. Why was he removed or why has he been put back are the only two questions I am asking for? Interior Minister should have justified his removal from FIA which as such would have earned it some credibility and not otherwise. Interior minister must have some reasons, even if not compelling ones, to oust Tariq Khosa from FIA and it was his both official and moral obligation to let all know what prompted him to make such a big change.

Quite interestingly, one way or the other, most of our ministers including interior almost daily say something about any thing irrespective of the fact whether the subject or topic relates to them or their ministry or not but why did interior minister keep mum upon his removal from FIA is really not understood. I not only very seriously doubt but assert with full conviction and authority as well that none whosoever on the face of earth could stop or even deter our interior minister not to tell us why did he remove him from FIA or alternatively he should be bold enough to tell the nation as why he is putting back Tariq Khosa as DG, FIA. Silence for not explaining the reasons for removal of Khosa, or for that matter, avoiding spelling out what obliged him to reappoint Khosa itself speaks aloud of the minister who is too thick and thin with our President in any case.

The caption itself, Is it slap or clap? needs to be answered but by whom and when-you know better than me.

With my honest and solemn prayers

Sincere Iqbal Hadi Zaidi / Kuwait
