Dear all,
Instead of fulfilling the promise of paying the minimum wages the administration of Hamza Board Gojra in district Toba Tek Singh, have terminated all 12 main leaders of the union. The factory is owned by Hamza Shahbaz MNA, son Mian Shahbaz Sharif.
The promise to pay the minimum wages and temporary workers to be made permanent workers was made last month when workers went for few hours of strike.
A complete strike is observed at the factory on 11 April after police lathe charged the protesting workers injuring three. Workers are demanding an immediate restoration of 12 union leaders.
Administration is angry after a report of the workers grievances were published in Weekly Mazdoor Jeddojuhd (workers struggle) as a title exclusive story. Those pictured in the paper are to loose the jobs. This is the justice and respect of media freedom by the administration of the factory owned by Nawaz Sharif family.
In a usual maneuver, the administration offered to restore 7 instead of 12, after a round of negotiations with Labour Party Pakistan local leaders and union activists. It was rejected at the workers gathering when put for a vote. Workers went on complete strike after the vote and not a single of 250 workers went to work.
Please protest at this,
Our demands are restore the terminated workers and pay a minimum wages of rupees 6000. Those working for years on contract, must be made permanent workers.
Please send your protest to the followings,
