Flowers and the Stones

Dr. Anwar Ul Haque

                                           What a sharp contrast

The children of Eden on one side

Soft, tender, loving and Bright

The cruelest stones on the other side

Israelis: the  stones, the lowest of the low!

Coward, cheap, deceptive, slime and gunk

Lower than Satans, inferior to witches in a row

No beast can degrade to this inhuman chunk

The brave children the beautiful flowers

Resilient, daring, bold, able to fight in ranks

Against mighty powers with simple pebble showers

The cowards fearing & hiding in planes and tanks

Children bruised by phosphorus bombing

Smiling at the tall robotic statues of greed

Children so innocent and forgiving

The Stones so ruthless, unkind and lowly breed

The children are buried in the heap of lies

Nay the Satans had cadged the entire humanity

Closed hearts, sealed ears and shut up eyes

Unable to speak truth and see the reality

Rachel Corrie is the Host of the nobility

For the beautiful, fragrant children of Palestine

The spring has come due to her hospitality

Her warm blood enriched the soil of Palestine

O Palestine! The land of Abraham!

The true Muslim, never hesitant to sacrifice

Ready to submit to All Mighty with heart so calm

And smash the stones full of cowardice
