Politics in Pakistan shows itself in many colours. At times, it blossoms as winning percentage of civilian votes in elections, at others, it emerges as brute military force. PPP in 1971 and PML-N in 1997, came to power with thumping majority of votes. The military take-overs in 1958, 1979, and 1999 did not need public mandate. Martin Luther King Junior was very right in saying that riots are the voices of the unheard. The exhibition of this famous saying is evident on roads and highways in Pakistan these days due to intolerable levels of power outages. The criminal neglect of our policy makers in fulfilling their obligations in provisioning basic amenities of life falls too shorts of the minimum requisite standards. Pakistan’s disinclination to kick off another operation in North Waziristan (NW) at the cost of losing balance became a sour point which tensed Pak-US relations. It was amid building tensions that incident of Raymond Davis took place in January 2011 which further strained relations. The entire leadership of USA including Obama lied to get Davis freed on the false pretext that he was a diplomat. Click here to read Full Article

There is an Urdu proverb which says, “Nadan Dost Se Dana Dushman Behtar Hai” It means 'a wise enemy is better than a stupid friend'. The proverb applies on the friends of Asif Ali Zardari. He has plenty of them. In recent weeks and months he has been discarding them one by one. The latest being the one (though he has not yet been discarded) who drafted the bill on the 'Contempt of Court'. The Bill Click here to read Full Article

Chronological events and AAZ by Dr Ghayur Ayub
Posted By: Ghayyur_Ayub On: 7/Jul/2012 Views:2092 Replies:0
There are some strange linkages in certain chronological events that faced Pakistan in the first decade of 21st century. The trends continue. Some would label them part of 'conspiracy theories, other would call them, ‘coincidences’ or ‘prudent planning’.The term 'conspiracy theory' was first used in 1871 in an article in the Journal of Mental Science with reference to the Fifth Quarterly Meeting o Click here to read Full Article

Syed Yusaf Raza Gilani chosen as PM by Zardari remained wholly loyal to his benefactor till the very end. He remained calm even when he was downed by Supreme Court (SC) and when he was finally axed. Hardly had the head of PM Gilani been rolled when three aspirants raring to be guillotined by the axe of judiciary started bleating excitedly, each eager than the other. It became difficult for the chi Click here to read Full Article
